Faaip sent me that too...I also wasn't blown away, but a couple of tracks were good...yes, mate I do know of Daevid and Rob's history with Soft Machine...tho I never rated the band..bit too jazzy for me back then, in my hippy/trippy years...

I was making the comment that if I'd heard the track you posted by RW without knowing who it was - my first guess would have been Daevid Allen.

Just a quick update - Tull were fab.

Shame IA's voice is completely shot, but they compensate by playing more of the instrumental stuff.


Professional, tight and the sound was as clear as I've ever heard it at a gig.


Turning out to be a good year for gigs.

Saw her on every date of her first tour in the UK.

Seen her maybe ten times since.

Revised for my finals at Uni to a backdrop of 'Days of Open Hand' (amongst a couple of others)


Lovely singer, brilliant songwriter and a consumate performer.


Not exactly prolific though - she's always gone for quality over quantity.

Dammers played a couple of Alice Coltrane tracks at The Bridgewater Hall on Tuesday. Alice's 'Ptah,The El Daoud' is a wonderful album. Here's part of the title tune - part 2 is available on U Tube as well:

Poor times for gigs in Copenhagen recently...

James Taylor suffered from abysmal sound - the wonkers on the desk had no idea! I said just turn off the pa and let his sound play. They did and the last ½ hour was intimately great! I have applied for a job as soundman at that place - wish me luck!

Wishbone Ash I didn't bother with as only one original member...it was pishing down that night too and I just couldn't make the effort.

Fabulous Thunderbirds...old farts going thu the motions and no SRV to take it higher...very disappointing

Waiting for a pop festival on the beach here in our village this June...RAMMSTEIN are headlining! I will be there with wife and son, as we are all fans...tho we could stay at home and hear it from our terrace!

Slow Dancer is the pinnacle of Scaggs achievements imo (post Steve Miller of course). Steve Miller - most under rated of the 60s American top guns.
