Houses Of the Holy was the follow up to the highly acclaimed Four album & at the time of release was hammered by some critics. As i said to Revie & Barry last week i enjoy HOTH more now than i did in the 70's certainly in my top 5 Zeppelin albums
Whilst doing my 40 mile drive around the wolds this morning, listening to Lemon Jelly '64 - '95 only my first hearing of what can be only described as trip hop/electronica/space rock/etc, need a few more listens i suspect but very interesting
WR, GW & possibly Faaip maybe interested, new copies available on Amazon available for 99p.Check the reviews or you tube & see what you think folks
Next up a 5 star album everyone should have in their collection. Faaip loves it & i believe it is Baby Lemonade's all time favourite album.
Revie, we were discussing our teenage/student day & our love of the Moody Blues music on the phone last night, forgot to mention this cracker as Love's music is very similar
Couldn't resist playing this classic pop album again today, infectious stuff.
Please, Please listen to this, totally ignored when i posted it up last night, nothing new for most of us i suppose
Not bad 64
Do I take it the Eurythmics version was a re-make?
Just gonna point out if some of my punctuation is a bit dodgy it's because my laptop was purchased in Spain and symbols etc are all over the place It just depends if I've noticed before I post
I'm going back to 505, I saw them at Sheffield and they were amazing.
BB and 64 - three brilliant tracks there to welcome me home from a strenuous day at work!
"Alone again Or" would be in my Desert Island Discs for sure! I still remember the first time I heard it...student shared flat in Headingley - wonderful stoned and sunny afternoon. One of the guys came in with a new L.P. Import copy of F.C. Rest of us listened, very underwhelmed at the first few tracks - then Alone again came on! The trumpets and rhythm and guitars and lyrics just matched the sunny afternoon perfectly and we were blown away.
Did you know Neil Young played and did some vocals on that album...and did the arrangements for "The Daily Planet" track?
BB - I only saw the original F.Mac once..at Leeds Poly. TBH - the only thing I can remember about the gig was how much Mick Fleetwood DROOLED, whilst drumming! I was fascinated! I say original Mac, although Christine Perfect was in the band.
Saw Peter Green here solo, last Autumn - magykal gig and a few famous old Danish musicians got up and jammed with him at the end of the gig.

Yes Becchio, Annie had a big hit with it whilst the original bearly made the top 100, shameful the whole album is on the same theme a cross between the Human League & Walker Brothers
