The most fascinating outcome would be for the Netherlands to win tonight so that Argentina face Brazil in the third place play-off. That would most certainly NOT be a meaningless game.
True enough, though it would eliminate The Doc from the comp.

I only have the option of choosing Brazil for this round so we'll see if there is a reaction against the Dutch. The Dutch have been pretty dreadful since the group stages anyway so I may just have a chance if Brazil want to make amends for their abject performance in the semi.

If there was money riding on this I would go for Germany, but since it's just for fun and to keep the interest going right to the end I will say Argentina.

It would be shared between the good Doctor and one of us.

Well done Genghers, I may have come bottom but technically couldn't have won this one as I'm not a man :P :bear:
I'm going back to 505, I saw them at Sheffield and they were amazing.

Thanks! I enjoyed this a lot - don't think it'd work in a league season though! :p

It would work better in a league. Each round is a weekend (ignore random midweek games), so at weekend 1 pick any Championship team that is going to win and keep going with the no repeat rule.

Happy to run it if we have interest

Can also do it in the FA Cup or Carling Cup - it's simple for me to run if we have enough people interested

One way to find out if there is much interest is to start a thread on General Chat, I'm sure they'll be plenty if folk are aware of the forthcoming competition

I'm up for it
