They were Leeds fans though and targeted as such. The London terrorist attacks were carried out by muslim fanatics with a hatred of the west and as part of a campaign which is worldwide so completely separate examples.Muppet the Cat wrote: ↑Sat Oct 13, 2018 8:41 pm I've been to Turkey (Side) once, back in 1989, when perhaps it had a reputation for being a bit below the usual Mediterranean standards that perhaps the British tourist would expect. But to be fair it was a fantastic place - a lovely country and very nice welcoming people.
I understand your point BB, but you can't judge a whole country by the mindless acts of a few.
Just think of the foreign visitors innocently killed in the various London terrorist attacks - would we want to think that the world viewed us as a nation on the basis of the misguided evil actions of a few 'British' national individuals.

I absolutely appreciate your points BB and 63, but I just don't think you can castigate the whole country for the actions of a mindless few.

Re: What are you doing today ?
I realise passions are high, maybe deservedly so, but it was a very limited number of people involved all those years ago - they, and the attitude that went with it, probably don't exist now. Lessons may have been learned and we should hope so. Remember what we say when terrorists and murderers prevail - they've won. Let's not let them win anymore - live your life as you want to.Muppet the Cat » Sun Oct 14, 2018 1:29 pm

To answer the thread question, I'm doing as little as possible whilst trying to look industrious. Unfortunately it's a no-win situation as long as even 1 eyelid droops as far as a mousefart would send it.
I don't know why I'm worried really - Debbie and a couple of her friends have taken off on a mini-gamble for a couple of days to Tunica in Mississippi.
I've got my Sunday quiz all ready for exposure at the V.F.W. this afternoon and can sit back to have a beer or 2. Debbie and I settled on that Hector btw, up to 4 beers only on a Sunday whilst administering the quiz.

Whether Leeds are playing or not I will be working on our garden as it is a lovely day here
Re: What are you doing today ?
still building breeding cages for the budgies, bad weather all year and no outside proper covered workspace means that I am way behind schedule....
Re: What are you doing today ?
Taking Houndie out soon, then get logs in for woodburners. Have a bit of a potter in the garden then vaccum round then watch some international footy. (Hate these international breaks but at least they are meaningful this time round)
Re: What are you doing today ?
Newcastle on a stag do..
Re: What are you doing today ?
Just back from a trip up to Northumberland, so catching up on washing and housey jobs. I have some new CDs and a new guitar, so music will feature at some point too.
