A Birthday Request

Post by Ronan »

Hi folks

It's my birthday today and i have a special request.....instead of wishing me well, could you all say a wee prayer for my mum.

She had a mini stroke in August...she hasn't been getting much better after surgery to clear arteries and was admitted again on Tuesday to hospital.

It now transpires that the stroke was not a stroke but in fact a tumour which virtually mirrored the symptoms of a stroke......and is now the size of a ping pong ball on her brain.

This has come as a huge shock to all of us.....and even the consultant.

She is on steroids to help the swelling...and further scans to assess options, neurosugery etc.....

My birthday is irrelevant...just keep her in your thoughts please.

Thanks

Ronan

Went over to see mum last night and told her that my 2 favourite website community forums Alfa Romeo & Leeds United were both sending her best wishes & praying for her...even lighting candles........and she burst into tears :(

Just hope that was her showing her appreciation....or maybe finally realizing that her son really has dodgy taste in cars and football teams :roflmao:

Thank you all,you sadists !!!

I know from recent experience what a worrying time this must be, Ronan. All I can say is that she will receive top class care from our local medics and the best chance to recover fully. I trust that - as she improves daily - your worries lessen.

Thanks folks

Looks like she is getting her big MRI scan tomorrow and then the specialist multidisciplinary team of doctors/surgeons will decide the next course of action on Friday.

Hopefully the steroids she is taking now will ease the swelling on her brain a wee bit and she might get back to her old cantankerous self again

Ffs i thought i would never say i wanted her to be the oul pain she used to be !!! :-D

Onwards and upwards !!!! :shirt: :shirt:
