CJAY Rodon wasn’t a 5. He made a couple of mistakes. Geo made a bucket full. Gray a 6 and Firpo a 6 ?
Summerville had a quiet game by his standards but he played OK, just not at his usually high standard.

6 for me is OK, it's the number I start from.

Jimmy had a poor game, was ineffective and wasteful so lost a point (great season today was poor tiz all)

Rodon had a few sloppy moments which could easily have been more costly than they were because of where he lost the ball so lost a point.

Gray and Firpo were ok but Plymouth did get behind them at times (Gray especially imo)

I was going to give Rutter a 5 but he got the goal and the assist which ultimately is what wins games so marked him up.

So you gave Geo two points for the assist and two points for the goal ?

My notes showed Rodon made three errors outside the box.

Inside the box, he was a rock, without Joe or Amps we concede today.

5 or 6 is a ridiculous score, mate

Yeah tbh I think I've made an error with my ratings so may correct them later after a rewatch

This was more guts than the glamour today but after all the travel its no wonder the boys wasn't firing at all times. In saying that tho we started the game like a train having 95% possession at one stage, Don Goodman delighted in telling us and then we seemed to get stuck in a rut a bit and not go thru the gears like we know we can.
A very good clean sheet, Plymouth really knuckled down and their fans give them a push for about 20mins second half until Georgi put the game to bed. All in all a great effort by the team.

Meslier 8: He caught one just after he punched one. A couple of loose kicks but one of his better games overall.
Gray 8: They used their fullbacks to good effect and Archie got caught a couple of times but he also contributed well both defensively and in attacks. He's starting to link up well with Willy.
Rodon 8: Rock solid from big Joe again. He's only human after all.... but we got a clean sheet.
Ampadu 9: A real Captains performance i thought he was excellent throughout.
Firpo 7: Did his bit just one moment where he gives the freekick away and then lets his man ghost into the box whilst pointing at him.
Kamara 7.5: Gets though a lot of work. Thought he was the pick of our midfield today.
Gruev 7: A couple of great last ditch challenges and a lot of work but not the usual control second half.
Gnonto 9: He's back in the sort of form that had the whole football world talking about him.
Rutter 7.5: Not his best game but he's still involved in everything we do.
Summerville 6: Nothing really coming off for Jimmy today.
Piroe 6.5 Got his assist.

Next Friday is going to be a cracker.

I thought Rodon had another impressive game - despite a couple of errors. Part of the reason Plymouth barely got a look at goal.

Indeed Andrew, stick any of our other CB's in our defence & shots would be flying in.

Apparently, Rodon gets annoyed if the opposition has a shot on target.

Ironically I find myself in agreement with PJM - ( first time for everything)

His scoring is more in keeping with mine in terms of the scale of points awarded, albeit not the same actual player scores. I have not seen a performance this season by any player to justify a 9 in the way I score.

I find it contradictory how some players will jump on a defender, but more so the goalkeeper executing a loose pass. Whilst I accept there is far more jeopardy the nearer you get to our goal by losing possession this for me indicates the added importance of players at the back, which is often overlooked with the scoring awarded.

We play out from the back and we do it well, aye it can be back and forth at times waiting for the right opportunity to play it forwards, but they do not have the comfort of playing a poor pass which - others who are often lauded - do so on a regular basis.

Meslier who can only pass forwards and sideways (no simple back passes for him) gets called out yesterday for one loose pass into midfield.
