Daniel Farke post Huddersfield

Post by Cjay »

Farke's here - how tough that battle?
Disappointing in the way we have to accept we do not have a 10 wins in a row, just wanted to win this game. Missed chances in the opening few minutes. 28 points from 30. Pretty ambitious. If you say this is disappointing it shows our ambition.

Summerville and Kamara have to make it 1-0 with that big early chance.

Huddersfield fought with the knife between the teeth. Ball never in play in the first half. Just 18 minutes in play makes it hard to create chances. Slow in the head in the first half.

Gave them unnecessary set-pieces away. Helik with a ninth goal this season from defence.

Not overly happy with the yellow-red card. Could have been really difficult. Thought they would park the bus even more in the second half. They did brilliantly. Was hard to break them down. Quick turnaround for us. Pitch was difficult. Stop and go game. Many tactical fouls.

This is what the Champ sides are doing that fight relegation. Rutter's header. This is the day you have to win from a set-piece. Had chances for the second goal, but didn't do this.

When you know how this league is sometimes you have to say okay take the point.

Spark back on Tuesday?
Relentless schedule. Three proper nights will see us recover for Tuesday. Not a long travel. Helps us.

Every game is a challenge in this league. Didn't give anything away at the back outside the goal. Defended narrow spaces between the line

Officials could have done more?
I don't like to complain too much about the refs, I do not ask for more cards. Some strange scenes. I would rather not watch it back because I cannot now influence it. You have to expect this is how a relegation battler will play. Nearly 80 per cent possession, many hits and knocks. As a neutral, you might say they should protect the more creative players more.

How have the team responded?
Frustrated. I needed to lift the mood. Very quiet in there. Looked like a loss. Point on the road in the Champ is always good. I like this ambition of my players. Did not expect 22 wins in a row this year. Sometimes you have to accept a draw. We are not used to it. Not too many draws. Lots of wins. Sometimes a point is very valuable. By the end of the season, one point can make a difference of two or three places.

Do not underestimate coming back from a losing position.

Sign of things to come from other opponents?
I would say from the 35 games we have played there have been 25 like this. We have found we can beat opponents like this. You have to accept the mentality, quality or fighting spirit of opponents sometimes. Another day we speak about a tight, hard-fought win.

Games can be like this?
Yes, it's not like we always face Leicester or Chelsea. We will get more games like this.

How good to get top two now?
Difficult to predict because normally we would be comfortably number one with our points tally. We are not addicted to watching the table each and every hour. Grinding out results have been magnificent in recent weeks. Let the table take care of itself. Cannot influence any other results. See where we finish.

Ttoally agree but we've heard it so many times this season haven't we, still not correcting the issue.

If players are not creating chances then that is an issue you work to correct, but players missing chances is just part of the game.

Not week in week out Ian, once again we miss vital chances, oh, and all those clamouring for how good bamford is, got their answer today, didn't realise we subbed him in the first 18 minutes

Look around the game, every club suffers from it, that is why games dont finish 5 each every week.

And dis Bamford all you like but his contribution has been vital.

All strikers miss chances

I get that as well Ian, no complaints about how we've progressed this season, just frustrated, can't win em all.
End of the day it's a point gained on the top, if we'd had put our chances in and won, the diference would now be 3 points and still in 2nd spot.
Bamford did less than f**k all today, that isn't vital, he's in for his experience, not lack of it.
