I have no doubt it will be Costa.

However Costa generally struggles when he starts due to the initial intensity, he is not a physical player who relishes a 50/50 challenge. For me his best performances have been as a sub. I think he needs the game to be stretched with tired legs so that he can exploit space. Against City he is likely to be anonymous if he starts.
I would prefer Poveda as a starter, he is better with the ball in tight spaces and can draw a foul which will be invaluable as we will get pressed just as intently as we try to do likewise. Quality on the ball and not surrendering possession needlessly will be key to getting anything from the game.
Whoever is playing on the left will get little change out of Walker when it comes to pace.
As much as I admire Alioski for his service to the team he will be tormented by City if he starts, regardless of his position. Lacks concentration and composure, which is frequently exploited at this level. I would put Dallas as LB and play Shacks in the middle with Robert’s as we will need that energy to compete.

Time to just remember him as he was, I would hate to see him embarressed against Citeh... And if he plays and proves me wrong I will bare my arse in woolly's window...
Let's hope he plays and has a blinder then :rol:

Why would you put Summerville in a position of weakness for his first start, if you watch the U23's you'll have noticed he's way less effective on the left. I think the same applies to Poveda and Raphinha. Raph so much more dangerous when playing on the right.

We're looking for a left winger, Harrison, Alioski and Costa are our best three with Huggins the natural promotion from the 23's

It will be Costa although id prefer Poveda or Summerville.

I love Pablo as much as anyone, probably my favourite player with Aliiiiiiiii over the last few years.

But 36 year olds with a history of dodgy hammies dont play winger in the Premier league.

36 year olds with a history of dodgy hammies absolutely definitely dont play winger in a Bielsa side where all it takes is for one player to lose their man and the whole system is in trouble.

Risking Pablo against Man City playing on the wing would be insanity.

I'm not a football fan & only watch some of the Leeds match highlights, I always want them to win though, use to watch final score when Leon was on his home & away trips.

I feel really sorry for Pablo :(

it will be Helder Starbucks on seniority - although i believe one of Huggins , Summerville or Poveda could do as good a job

Maybe Pablo's not up to it at PL levels? Maybe his legs have gone??
I bet the armband thing was forgotten about after the next game.

PS, I'd love him to play as the Pablo over the last three years, but not out wide anymore...even the cameo's he's played this season haven't been great.
I agree, but why do Alioski, Klich and Costa keep getting chances then? Hate the way we've treated Pablo, yet shown loyalty to others. Without Pablo, we wouldn't be in the PL.

If he is still being punished for his mini tantrum it is very shortsighted, he must be back in the good books by now?

Unfortunately seems to be the case, you can name the oncoming tactical subs as soon as the team & bench are announced.

Pablo doesn't need to play as an out & out winger, he always drifted right across the midfield when he played regularly anyway, he is likely to give his more than Costa because he has a football brain. Defensively Pablo will work his little socks off, another facet of his game where he is so much better than Costa!

As for Costa the strong Citeh defenders will eat him up & spit him out, that goes for Poveda too imo!

Pointless discussing as Costa will start anyway.

He returned to the first XI when Jack was out of form but didn't take his opportunity & was dropped yet again.

I do think he'll start due to the pecking order in place!

Pablo may as well leave the club, he has more skill in his big toe than most, unfortunately he is the forgotten man :(
