Re: Georginio Rutter-
TBF, I thought Anthony looked decent in his cameo last match, but point taken. Rotation has been a problem with this squad. I think in relation to Anthony it is important to remember that he has had a personal tradegy to cope with and it may be that it has played a part in how involved he has been,...

Re: Norwich 2nd leg pre match chat
You might remember my concern in January that Rutter was the one player we couldn't afford to lose through injury as he's irreplacable and absolutely vital to how we play as an attacking force. Unfortunately we've now lost him to loss of form instead which is even worse as it's like playing with on...

Re: Norwich Away - Post Match Thread
Win the 2nd leg and its a decent tactical performance from DF tbf. Definitely set up today not to lose rather than win. Given how defensively open we've been recently not the worst idea. Hopefully a different setup at Elland Road. This is why I agreed with Farke when he said how it was the start of...

Re: Norwich pre match chat
The team is shot and so am I to be honest, it’s been an exhausting and intense season from the off, all the behind the scenes stuff with players wanting to leave and then the pressure to win just about every game since October. Hopefully they can regroup over this week and rediscover some defensive...

Re: Southampton post match discussion
I agree I don't think we have much chance of turning It around. We've collapsed, the players look beaten and Farke himself doesn't exactly look like a man who knows how to fix it. I said months ago whoever missed out from us, Ipswich and Leicester wouldn't win the playoffs, I stand by that unfortun...

Re: Bring back Jesse
The interesting thing is imo Farke is right in the sense that you need possession and can't look forward all the time. That was a flaw in the original style that even Red Bull clubs have abandoned. 6,7 years ago when Leipzig came up to the Bundesliga playing this way and Rangnick himself was in cha...

Re: Loan Watch
Yeah I can se him being a poor centreback somewhere instead of a god awful rightback. He will end up going back to something like the Austrain league where he will look decent to those that are stat obsessed. The Subhuman wrote: ↑Mon May 06, 2024 4:11 pm Kristensen will struggle till an intelligent manager realizes he's a centre back

Re: Southampton post match discussion
Any one notice how none of our players ran over to celebrate Piroe's goal, only a high-five with Gnonto was visable to me. I made the point to an MOT regular earlier today about this, but more specifically how Summerville basically blanked him as he ran off to celebrate. Our loss of form came immed...

Re: Pick your team against Norwich
It all depends on your definition of playing well Winning is different to playing well. Warning signs galore towards the end of that impressive run which I would say have lasted around 2 months now. I consider that timescale very worrying and perhaps the bottom line is we overperformed and what we ...

Re: Southampton post match discussion
They say history is written by the victors, but it is a funny old world when two people can look at the clubs history with managers and write completely different histories... a history that supports their own particular narrative. One uses knives for stabbing the other bandages for healing. I thin...

Re: Pick your team against Norwich
Oh so you simply want to ignore how well they played from Septemeber onwards, the fact that we were the best team from October onwards and just judge them on the last few weeks?

Re: Southampton post match discussion
I'm glad you bought this up. Pressure, think Warnock mentioned it, possibly Allardyce as well. Phil mentioned it in his articles and possibly even his book. The pressure of managing LUFC is unlike practically any other club. It's been hard enough for promotion specialists like Warnock, even Javi Gr...

Re: Southampton post match discussion
Sorry Weasel but for some reason you've attached yourself to this manager and are just happy to make excuses for him which you'd have never done for anyone else bar Bielsa. Why does his difficult summer now extend till the end of September? That's a new one, most people had happily accepted August ...

Re: Pick your team against Norwich
Despite our awful last few matches we have picked up more points than both Ipswich and Leicester since the end of October. Our results were pretty damn incredible for a long time yet many seem to think they are justified in slagging off all our players. Go farke yerselves!

Re: Southampton post match discussion
Farke was literally going to play him on the right as he thought he could be his Buendia clone. Did all the way until September. Only shifted him because Sinisterra left and he refused to play Gnonto for more than 5 minutes. Oh hang the manager for planning one thing and changing it when one player...

Re: Bring back Jesse
Everyone commenting on that photo you do realise it was a few seconds after a corner kick had been sent in so we weren't in a position where players were in their usual places on the pitch? The ball got half cleared then played back in. Yes we should have picked the guys up but it wasn't like it was...
