Re: Seems we may have a petulant child on our hands...
Any idea how long left on his contract ? Not a clue. He seems like a good lad and he's been very unfortunate with injuries, but even before he got cut down, could anyone honestly say that he was potentially a top half player? If they're not at that level, eventually they are going to have to depart.

I'd let Forshaw go if someone offered to take on some of his wages.

Re: Seems we may have a petulant child on our hands...
I think the price tag was too high for him. I’m not convinced loan deals with obligations to buy are the right way... but we got promoted. He’s young enough and will have some re-sale value. I do think having five wingers at the club vying for a spot in the match day squad is one too many. It could ...

Ah yes, Off-Guardian. The notorious conspiracy/pseudoscience publication that finds itself on the periphery of popular media for good reason. The facts show that the current covid-19 testing has a false negative and false positive rate of less than 1% Are we also going to deny the 1.6 million covid...

Meslier - 6 One great save but again taking too many chances at the back and needs to command more Dallas - 7 Got better as the game went on. Ayling - 6 Not his best tonight. Cooper - 7 Wasn’t tested in the way he has been lately Alioski - 7 Got forward well but unconvincing at the ball Phillips - 6...

Positives - we won.
Negatives - corners, at both ends.
Phillips shouldn’t ever take a corner again. Ever.

Until we learn how to defend set plays and also... not shoot straight into the arms of the goalie... we’ll continue to stutter.
Some of the lads aren’t up to the mark, which isn’t their fault. The manager is to blame for continually selecting them.

Re: Cavani Racism Accusation - Sounds Familiar
Context is important, I think.
If he wanted to deliberately cause offence, he would have done.
Certainly not using a handshake emoji to accompany the text.
He should get a slap on the wrist and no more. But he won't, he'll likely receive a significant ban in another victory for the baying mob.

Re: Everton v Leeds Utd Match Thread - An open game in the early stages at Goodison Park
Bamford didn't do what Hernandez did. Hernandez threw off the armband and left it on the ground. Bamford went right to the bench and sat down. I think the latter's hissy was less and easier to understand. Pablo was playing well and replaced by a lad who look to have totally lost it. Bamford was onl...

Meslier - 7 Made one excellent save, otherwise not tested much Ayling - 6 Not one of his better games, passing was frequently inaccurate Koch - 7 Much better tonight, I still think he wants to play too much football in our half though Cooper - 7 Glimpses of why he’s the most improved player at the c...

Blimey...
We huff and puff... but don’t blow the house down.
A problem is that we’ve got lads like Struijk, Alioski etc as starters, when they’re not up to the mark.

Re: Crystal Palace v Leeds United Match Thread - No spoilers for latecomers please.
Not going to be our day. The offside was a farce. The og was very unlucky but really poor from Meslier (could have done better on the 1st also). We arent handling Eze at all, far to open and easy for him to drive through the middle, Zaha vs Ayling is a mismatch. Unlucky but to many injuries imo, Kl...

Re: The Magical 40
Having committed £100m in expenditure on players, and having a side that contains several internationals, talk of ‘get to 40’ is indicative of pessimism, to me. Much like talk of ‘get so and so in with his agent for a new deal’ is dismissed as Ridsdale economics. The player I’d want in for talks wou...

Re: No reason to fear anyone
I don’t think we have anything to fear at all, we’ve held our own with the top 2 sides, turned over Villa who have had a hot start etc. Teams that don’t have the fitness and try to play the way we do will get run over, if our finishing is good. Teams that are able to stick with us like Wolves were a...

Re: Aston Villa v Leeds Utd Match Thread - Struijk starts in defensive midfield
I thought going into this season that we might fare well in the EPL because teams wouldn't park the bus against us the way they did in the Championship. But after the last two games, where Wolves prospered by putting ten men behind the ball and Villa got blown out trying to play with us, I'm afraid...

Re: Player Ratings v Man Citeh (h)
Meslier - 6. Made the saves he needed to make. Poor pass for their goal and was a bit ponderous on the ball. Could have cleared the ball up the park more. Ayling - 8. Did really well against Sterling and was a threat going forward against Mendy. Koch - 8. Solid as a rock. Growing into the team quick...
