Re: George McCartney set for loan
I don't think they see Aidy as a full back. They see him as a winger. McCartney was very decent on footy manager!!!

Re: Becchio (again)
Paynter was a hold up striker for Cox and then Austin, didn't do too badly last season goals wise. There are all types of different strikers but the 1 up front on his own will not be great as Becchio will not get enough goals to justify us only playing 1 striker. If Somma/McCormack/Paynter can get 2...

Re: Decent Point
Think what let's Killa down is that successful teams play pass & move football. Killa plays pass and admire which then automatically gives the player receiving the ball 1 less option for the next pass so often if the player receives the pass from Killa they then have no options and no matter how...

Wonder if SG will spring a surprise and have brought in a loan left back on a hush hush deal.

Re: Bates & Grayson
The 5th goal says everything about Kilkenny for me. Watches as a player jogs past him with the ball then never tries to get a tackle in and then blames everyone else. Terrible attitude and a player that has bags of ability (think it was his pass that set Somma up) but disappears when needed the most...

Re: Dont even start with the negativity
The good thing (and I said the same after we lost 4-0 to Bury in pre-season) is that it shows up the huge cracks rather than sneaking wins or narrow defeats which paper over the cracks. It forces something to be done and hopefully it will be as there have been quite a few players in the team that do...

Re: Champions of Yorkshire...
They've defended their title pretty well in recent years - only this season where injuries have really been non stop but yet they've kept on fighting and are still there to be beat. Agree with 64 as a yorkshirman I too support the cricket club, the rhinos etc and anything that reflects well on Leeds...

Re: The Long Ball
Sometimes the long ball is used to drive the opposition back thus allowing us to pen them in their half a bit more thus exerting pressure and as such giving us more of a foothold into the game again as it gives us more opportunity to get the ball in their half and as such create chances. It's all ab...

Re: Howson Should Be Captain.
Let Howson concentrate on improving his own game rather than having the additional pressure of worrying about everyone else too. Howson's time will come but don't forget he is still learning as a player.

Why Grayson is manager
Looked at the team line up today (totally missed the fact Higgs was in net though) and thought why are Johnson and Becchio in.

Well Stephen Crainey is apparently good enough for the prem too. Why is it that left backs look absolute sh*te for us then play well for other teams?

Re: Apology from '64
I think it is a case that SG & KB had identified their freebie targets and got some/most/all of them in as quickly as possible at the start and then it was a case of using whatever budget we had to get the remaining pieces of the jigsaw but that if the later targets wanted too much in wages, too...
