I remember a time when we splashed out cash on players like Robbie Keane, Robbie Fowler, Nick Barmby, and Seth Johnson.

Yup. That chairman knew what he was doing. Our current owner could learn something there.

You want a left back? What about the next Barry Douglas or Laurens De Bock?

A striker? There are more Jean Kevin Augustin's out there,

In short. Relax. Stop stressing over who we're going to sign. No panic buys. Back the boys we've got.
I do agree, except on one point. Robbie Keane was a smashing player and someone we could really do with right now.

It's all about the money guys and Radz won't spend any unless he receives it first. He'll be skipping home if DJ leaves and Bamba doesn't sign. Can't see anything changing until he sells up.

I think Robbie Keane was a great player. But that seemed the breaking point financially under Ridsdale. It was the first time I started wondering if we could afford all this.

Yet he'll still have his fanboys who defend him over everything

So the club knew last year we needed a striker and gave an injured player a 5 year deal on massive wages, full well knowing Radz wouldn't put any money into the club to help cover the costs. Then to make matters worse, they spent £25m on a player we didn't need, only to loan him out a year later.

Fair enough, it was around the beginning of the end, when we were spunking money up the wall for rejects like Fowler, or players like Seth Johnson.

Seems a fair decision that I should give the forum a swerve for the rest of today. Looks like any chance of a striker inbound is near zero now.

Incredibly disappointing deadline day if this is it, so looks like we just need to get behind the lads now and hope Gelhardt bangs some in. My biggest concern with him is his lack of height and his game being better served as a false 9 type player rather than an out-and-out number 9.

Feel sorry for Marsch

Clearly has wanted a striker and the club have totally let him down.

Kinnear patronising the fans in his notes.

Radz welcoming new signings by agreeing they are underwhelming on twitter.

Potential new signing Radz welcomes turns us down.
