Thats class. I'm nowhere near Leeds now but remember the city well from all the cricket and football in the 1980's and 90's. I love that the city is getting all that Leeds United recognition now. It promotes a great image for the club.

Re: Kalvin Phillips
We looked so much better with Kalvin marshalling the midfield & protecting our defence

Re: Kalvin Phillips
A lot of what KP does goes unnoticed. I'm surprised by the low match ratings he gets. On Sunday we built the whole defence around him. Everyone looks so much happier since he fills the gaps - especially Klich who gets more freedom. Plus KP is great at quick transitions with his long passes.

Re: Kalvin Phillips
I made Kalvin my MOTM so he can't of been lacking too much, although I reckon 8/10 was a decent score
Often gave Kalvin 9/10 last season in fact the best performance I've seen from my boy was down at Griffin Park last February. KP absolutely ran the game winning every ball & spraying passes all over the park earning himself a 10/10 rating from me

Re: Kalvin Phillips
He reminds me so much of Redondo. Seems to have all the time in the World, calm, excellent passes and just never gives up. Southgate must have enjoyed watching him tonight.
Re: Kalvin Phillips
Kalvin Phillips produced one of his finest performances in a Leeds shirt.
He completed 94% of his passes today and produced more successful passes than any player involved (79/84). He completed 20/24 final third passes, switched play 5 times and made the most recoveries 11 in all.
Kalvin covered a distance of 11.1km at Goodison Park today, more than any other player involved.
Exceptional performance.

Will Phillips ability to break up an opposition attack and immediately look to create an attack for his own team could count against him with Gareth if not playing it slow enough?
Un Marcelo Bielsa, solo hay un Marcelo Bielsa. Gracias Marcello. Marsching on together.

Re: Kalvin Phillips
I imagine Southgate watches the way we play and is completely clueless as to how we do it. With the players at England's disposal England should be able to play like Leeds but have the quality all over the park. Bielsa's Leeds would beat Southgate's England.
Re: Kalvin Phillips
Danny Murphy on Kalvin
He is one of few players you can't rotate as Leeds missed him v Leicester & Palace
He's the one that keep his position, breaks up play, becoming more productive with his passing, he's got everything
Thank god Leeds retained Phillips in the year they didn't come up

Re: Kalvin Phillips
He was brilliant vs Everton.
Also the side works better with him in it.
He isnt perfect and i loathe him having to play for England under that crap manager but he was immense vs Everton.

Perhaps Southgate was there for a Paddy, and who knows, perhaps Paddy's strop at the end was because he had failed to score a goal and impress Southgate.Allrounder wrote:He reminds me so much of Redondo.
