The word vocalist in the title should give us a lot of leeway, if it were best voice I'd agree they should all be opera singers and a bloody pointless and boring poll to boot. I think vocalist allows us to add presentation and content to the mix imo

After all we call them opera singers, not opera vocalists

Hmm, best voice and best vocalist sound very much the same to me, can't see where the leeway is. We also call Popular singers, Pop singers not Pop vocalists. Think I can see where this is heading. If presentation and content are contributing factors then the title should have been Greatest male performer. I'm thinking maybe I should have nominated Mr Blobby

For me vocalist is purely about the voice even if it isnt my favourite band or style of music.

Voice control
tone
A voice able to sing different genre etc.

Many singers can sing one style.

But the best ones can sing any style.

That is key imo.

Something like Big Eyed Beans from Venus or Bat Chain Puller or even Diddy Way Diddy would have been more representative... stunning voice
