Working but been following the updates on Leeds Live. Missed a cracker

1964 posed the question a couple of weeks ago about the gap between our 21s and L1 teams. Well we obviously looked impressive against a L2 team. And I'd argue that we could have included a couple more in that lineup - Hjelde, Summerville.

We do need a better defence. The games I've watched this season, we've dominated but look fragile at the back.

Joffy excellent tonight.

Two great goals, some wonderful hold-up play, delightful turns & worked hard defensively when we went down to ten men.

Our young lads were playing against some aggressive League Two defenders not schoolboys tonight.

I think it was a stronger U21 side than we will usually put out (barring giving players a run out for fitness). Gelhardt and Gnonto are definitely way better than U21 standard and Drameh has starred in a Championship side. It is also hard to judge the quality of the opposition as when we played away to Oldham last year the Oldham side was a mix of a few first team players and their U21 players so it isn't even the case that we were definitely playing against Tranmere's strongest XI.

Yes. But it wasn't ringers. It was legitimate U21's - a couple of whom just manage to make the first team bench (and an occasional start)

Good interview fromt he U21 boss

https://www.bbc.co.uk/sounds/play/p0d4ln51

I thought Greenwood's red card was very harsh. A booking definitely but was just a late tackle not violent conduct. Think the ref was probably swayed as there had been a bit of handbags before.

either way he was off as he had already picked up a yellow.

Gelhardt & Gnonto's quality certainly made us more lively, without those two additions I reckon the League 2 side may have got a result.

Smart finishes in that game, particularly by Perkins and Gelhardt, and strikers instinct also from Joseph. Gelhardt clearly too good for this level and I'm very happy he has responded in perfect style to Marsch dropping him last weekend. The form of Joseph and Perkins is also becoming difficult for Marsch to ignore. I fully expect one of them to find a place on the bench soon, but to replace who I don't have a scoobie doo. Gyabi looked to be bossing midfield as well, though I didn't see too much of Gnonto from the highlights reel.

Greenwood deserved carding for a yellow, so the implied red for 2 yellows seems OK (assuming the first yellow was deserved).
