Do we still hope our Big Pirate will play as one of our main CB's?
On a whole i have been disappointed with Pascal. He lacks presence and a bit like Harrison i feel he struggles with the mental side of things. He has had some excellent games since being here but he seemed to lose it completely last season and he's not filling me with confidence this season. I would like to see Wober come in on Friday personally to see how he fairs. Wober looks the leader type but pace could be a problem.
Sadly, we need more than Wober to repair our defence.
There's a mistake in every one of our defenders, they seem to make crucial errors in a random order!
What is it about Chelsea that ruins good Managers?? Maybe that's the question to ask.
I felt that Wober would either replace Cooper at LCB or compete with Roca for a spot in midfield. Especially after hearing his opening interview on LUTV where he spoke about playing the Number 6 spot. And so yesterday he comes on playing midfield. And he appeared to take charge out there. I'm looking forward to seeing more of him.

Point is about Cooper, we always appear worse without him, yesterday was a calamity against a weakened championship club, even though we fielded almost an international back four.
I think that's what they hope to get out of Wober. A younger player with leadership and higher potential.
There's nothing wrong with Stujik at LCB. He just needs more time and consistency there. We've talked about Cooper's leadership quite a bit. Strujik would probably benefit from playing alongside Cooper more often. It just happens that they both play the same role. You'd imagine that they spend a lot of time together on the training ground..
Wober offers another option between the two positions - LCB and LB. That's 3 players for 2 positions, plus Fripo.
Can't say much about Potter yet. It's an awful start and he doesn't seem to fit the bill of a high profile club. But it's the same situation as Arteta at Arsenal. He's going to need a couple of years to mold them into his team. I don't know if he'll get that or not.

I thought after Chelski we had cracked it. The looked a unit stepping up together... I don't think any of them are anywhere near top 10 PL.
Me too. I thought 'crikey this could work.'Sadly I think it was a combination of Chelsea having a really bad day, luck shining on us, and us playing well on the day (after the opening 20 minutes when we were lucky to be still level).

He’d be gone by now under Ambramovich, looks like their new regime have a bit more patience.
Question is, how much more patience ?
Don’t cry because you said goodbye to your pet, smile because you said hello
PS was thrown in a position he hasn't played in hardly, ball watching by him cost us a goal, Llorente and Koch are simply no better and neither is Cooper who is more solid than the latter 2.
Wober may be called into a CH role , we have LH as well to fit in somewhere so it could be better to leave Pascal as LB.
Potter isn't a bad manager, I personally think the dressing room at chelsea have way too many billy big bollocks that don't listen to him, not that I care, as I hate chelsea, his record is sacking material normally at that place, the new hierachy obviously have more patience and they;ll keep him on, it's the player power that's destroying chelsea, and am I glad to see it.

Is he that good or is it just down to parachute payments? Heckaday is looking a world beater too for the same reason. Kompany wasn't great at Anderlecht.
Burnley lost Pope, Mee, Tarkowski, Weghorst, Cornet, Hennessey, Collins and McNeil in the summer and yet Burnley are clear at the top of the championship. What has that got to do with parachute payments?

Because parachute payments make it unfair to the rest of the league and promotion spots are usually decided by the parachute payments teams. Unsurprisingly, the top two have parachute payments.

All down to a fantastic manager imho, VK is also a wonderful human being, knows how to get the best out of his players who all have the utmost respect for him.
If we lose / let JM go, I wouldn't mind VK at Leeds, big shout in his first year in management, but, he laked the game at the highest level and understands so much about the game.

I'd wait to see how he goes in the PL first. Parachute clubs tend to dominate the Championship. He wasn't great at Anderlecht.

Good point.
I do think with better players, like we have, he could do well.

I suggest you look at this.
72 million made from transfers and only 21 million spent

Plus players like Rodriguez, Brownhill, Taylor, Roberts who cost more than most Championship clubs can afford and the likes of Gudmundsson, Barnes, Cork and loans from Chelsea and Man City. He's done well, but he's not performing miracles. Parachute payments clubs go up 90% of the time. It's only us, Forest and Brentford recently who didn't have them.
Incidentally they want to get rid of them now we're in the PL
I'd love to live in the fantasy world of some people where managerial success is instantaneous, there are no mistakes or problems, no room for growth or learning from observation and experience, cups and titles are won in the first season, and Champions League qualification is a cinch.

I couldn't see Leeds making it look easy if god-forbid we are relegated, we'd lose our best players & be left with the dregs & the kids. We've witnessed how much we struggle to win matches with scratch teams against Crawley, Hull, Wolves & Cardiff during the Bielsa/Marsch reign.
