You're another one who's totally missed the point of the comment then. Those wins came at a time when many thought his job was in jeopardy. We've thrown away the chance to make a change before the world cup, but it's just papered over the cracks; the rest of our form is bottom of the league terrible.
This is neither a 'what if', nor 'plain bonkers'; it's simply highlighting that 2 wins in 16 should see any manager dismissed. That's not a 'narrative' either, it's the reality at most clubs, most of the time. There isn't really an argument against it, other than 'what if' the replacement was worse, which I don't think is a valid position at all.
I see the point Sara is making. Out of the 16 matches those are our only 2 wins. Out of the other 14 performances, apart from maybe Arsenal, I don't think you could pick any and say we were unlucky and deserved more. As such it isn't a case where someone could say, "Okay we got lucky v Bournemouth but we were robbed against, x, y and z so it evens out."
We could have lost to Liverpool, on another day they take one, or more, of their chances and then win comfortably - the fact Messlier was man of the match speaks volumes. Yes having a keeper make saves is his job but it wasn't a performance wfrom the team where you could say we definitely were the better side, deserved to win etc. If we played that match again 9 times then that would likely have been the only time we won it.
Against Bournemouth we were abysmal for most of the match. Bournemouth scored 3 and could have had a few more. It was therefore a match we could easily have lost.
So the 2 wins were hardly convincing wins whereas the majority (13) of the 14 matches we didn't win we weren't unlucky not to win.
The comparison made about 'If Arsenal had lost all their matches' was not comparable at all as Sara was talking about us winning 2 matches where we got lucky whereas Arsenal have won 14 and whilst they were lucky against us I doubt they were lucky in all the other 13 wins.
