Hope not, as he'll receive some right stick from our opponents fans.

For anyone wondering why McKennie would leave a top club like Juventus and come to Leeds. He couldn't wait to get out of Italy. He moved there because it was a step up from Schalke. And when he went to Juve many people thought it was a big mistake. It was a loan deal and most didn't rate him to crack the starting eleven. But he bet on himself and won.

His dream has always been to play in the Premier League. He would have come to Leeds even if we didn't have Adams, Aaronson, or Marsch. I wouldn't bet against Weston to find success here.

Agreed, Paul. I see him getting stuck in quickly and making an impact…hopefully replicating his form against England in the WC (sans the miss in front of goal). We’re also markedly more dangerous with him from corners and set pieces. Can’t wait to see him out there!

Welcome to MOT Joe! Is Denver just part of the handle or are you located in the Mile High City? If so we are neighbors by Western US standards. 8-)

Mile High City indeed! You in Rapid City? And I’m actually here by way of DC like yourself. Saw many matches at RFK and even sat among the Barras in my younger days. And thanks for the well wishes. Happy to be here.

Hi, I am an American, a lifelong USMNT supporter, and a youth coach. The USA are the only footballing organization I think I could say I have intense and organic connection to, since professional club football in the USA was non-existent when I was in my formative years. I basically joined your forum thanks to these three American players plus Jesse, and I really only did so to tell you the following:

You all are going to be juuuust fine with Weston McKennie coming on board. He essentially kept Schalke in the Bundesliga single-handedly in his age 21 and 22 seasons. They sent him to Juve after he dragged them to 12th and 14th place finishes those years while playing essentially every outfield position at some point, and then they got relegated the next season. He was a regular starter at Juve under two different managers for a reason. You don't rack up 96 competitive appearances in 2.5 seasons with Juve if you are a stiff, and that's with a total of about a half season missed through injury. He is versatile, he competes all over the field, he will do the running required to play in Marsch's system, and he will chip in timely goals with late arrivals in the box and especially on set pieces. His passing stats may look poor compared to a lot of other top class midfielders but his value in possession is his ability to find space and advance the ball. Wait until you see him on the pitch. He just knows how to play, and he has an enthusiasm that is infectious. And one of the most amazing things about him is that he's never been sent off as a professional despite being a very physical player.

Comfortable mid-table finish coming your way, especially now that you've shored up at the back a bit with Wober.

Anyways, nice to meet you all, sorry to Yank up your board a bit more than it is already.

Welcome bud.

Thanks for the insight into our shiny new toy.

If McK can find space in our setup he will deserve a medal :o

Welcome to the forum.

I joined this forum nine years ago and I can assure you that I, and all other Americans on here, are treated just the same as anyone else. When we have valid opinions they are taken seriously, and when our opinions are shite, there is no shortage of people to let us know. ;-)

The only time in all these years that my being American ever came up is when I first joined and people wanted to know if I was a hillbilly (I'm not).

Hopefully you educated them on Louisiana culture and cuisine. One of the truly unique and rich sub-cultures in our country. 8-)

To back up what John is saying. I've been treated very will here. I truly enjoy the characters around this place. And yes, we have a go at each other every now and then. But it's all good banter. And even when it gets tense we find a way to work it out. That is a rare thing in this world. And a credit to the people posting here.

Well said. I can confidently state that Leeds supporters will ultimately find this signing to be among the best they've made. Cheers.

Welcome, decent first post, i was looking for a bit of in-depth from someone that claims to know him well and that'll do for the time being, i tend to use my eyes not stats and know fck all about Weston apart from he caught my eye in the WC v England, so that's a good start, going off the you tube SSN above he seems a very grounded individual and not your typical loudmouthed Jesse, Trump lovin type Yank ;-)

Give it us straight like Paul seems to do (we know he's secretly aching for Jesse to pull through) and you'll find it's great craic here, there are quite a few boring fckers and lurkers that you'll weed out for yourself and some quality that will give it to you straight.

Please take any personal attacks personally
Not dependent on Google, the www or 'stats' - Just a guy that puts his eyes to full use on the beautiful game :geek: ...That Ayling goal and "You couldn't script it  " - Dirty Leeds B@stard.
Must dash.
