Rutter had more touches in 20mins than bamford did the whole time he was on, and had more impact.
A little fine tuning and managing well will help him no end.
Rutter & Sinni/ Rodders up top, get bamford on t' bench where he belongs.

A lovely cameo from Georginio vs the Saints

Nice run into the box to win a corner-kick.
Tracked back to make a tackle on the halfway-line.
Held the ball up well once.
Won a header to keep the ball near the corner flag.
A nice little run pass two defenders, winning another corner with the clock ticking down.

He was getting the crowd going a bit too, I like that sort of stuff.

Just got finished watching the replay, where I can pay closer attention to individual players, and Rutter was very impressive. He and McKennie danced a great little pas de deux in the corner to burn off a lot of time. His cameo was superb.

Probably his best showing to date, not a lot to go off, but he did show some nice close control and glimpses of skill, looks very nimble.

Nimble - now to sum things up going forward, that's a word i wouldn't use to describe Weston, is that fair ?

Grew into the game did George.

2nd half especially he was a threat with his strength and quick feet.

Did enough to suggest he should start vs Chelsea.

But I reckon Gracia will go for experience (as many managers do) and go for Bamford.

Would be a shame as Rutter could easily have had a goal or two today

Well done

Rutter improving. Bamford nowhere near it.

Rutter was unlucky. Bamford has been and currently is just plain poor.

Unlucky to get hauled off tonight especially when being replaced by that useless twat, we know nothing about GR yet, but we know more than enough about bamfraud , he will cost us if it carries on.

Folk bash him because of the fee we paid, it’s not his fault, nothing to do with him.

Slowly but surely, he’s starting to show up.

A goal or two will help massively.

Yup, hands up, I have been critical of him before the So'ton game, he looked decent again last night, hopefully he's going to get better.

We created lots of chances again but continually fail to put them away and it's a worry.

Didn't think he started particularly well, but grew into the game and was unlucky not to have had at least one goal. Did enough for me to start on Saturday.

Yep, very early days, showing some good glimpses and some bad ones.

Javi still got to find his best position yet, work in progress.

Would like to see him up front alongside Bamford. Having 2 strikers would hopefully ease the pressure a bit on both of them.

I go along with that, especially at home, least it gives a chance to shoehorn someone else in alongside our prolific scorer

Well, Rutter as the 10 playing off Paddy but maybe a touch deeper than a normal second forward. Very unlucky last night, looking better by the game which imo is amazing. Thought he'd need at least 10 games, wellahead of schedule. Great buy for me

Way premature to call him a great buy - but after last night the signs look promising.
