I was saying this to my pal today.

An early goal for Spurs, and I can see it getting incredibly toxic.

I always stay until the end, I won’t be applauding those players though. I suspect the abuse will be deafening (unless the miracle happens of course).

Had Adams and sinisterra not been injured we would of had enough this season, as big Sam says the problem is depth, we have an okay first 11 but piss poor when you have to scratch beneath the surface - it’s just not good enough that we have a weaker squad than forest and we had the luxury of 2 more seasons than them in the league.we Spent enough but used it on high priced bad players when we could have scoured the relegated clubs and championship for reinforcements e.g Gyokeres in January instead of Rutter.

There was more than enough quality on the team. Leeds fired their best in a generation coach Bielsa, then fired the guy who was able to motivate players and keep them up last season. The players they brought in were sold on and suited to high speed pressing football, and they were given a changing queue of defensive managers instead. The players looked confused and deflated.

The fans are addicted to the frisson of firing the managers, directors, board, and players, whether there are alternatives in place or not. Unless you have a bankroll like Chelsea, teams like that will get the drop.

As said about a million times on here, it all goes back to 2 years to when the board refused to build on a 9th place finish, and were sentimental in moving on from the Championship. If Alioski had signed a new contract, and scum hadn't bought Ronaldo, we actually wouldn't have signed a player last season. Ridiculous.

Everyone is pissed off - yet you feel this self indulgent need to feed off despondency and hope for affirmation from the contributors who buy into your narratives.

Is this your definition of insightfulness ?
Peculiar that you suggest that contributors buy into Cjay's narratives which would therefore suggest that Cjay starting this thread has relevance as other posters would be interested. As such I'm sure there was enough interest so there probabyl wasn't much need for you to post that you didn't find it of interest. Perhaps you stumbled on the thread by mistake and were just browsing to see examples of different types of messes and the thought of an absolute one really got your gander going.

You also have to take into the account the lack of confidence and a losing mentality at the club over the last two years. That won't be so easy to shake off.

But it needs a decent manager to make it happen.

He didn't overhaul the squad. Just made everyone better.
Trouble is how many Bielsas are there around that can improve players to the level he did? He was a miracle worker to do what he did yet so many fans and the owners didn't see it. Playing football manager games and thinking that by playing apark the bus tactic we would be better or dropping players to bring in youngsters would make us better.

We had someone beautiful but we decided to sleep with any dirty old sl*g we could. And now we have got what we deserve. We're back to being the unattractive laughing stock rather than being able to walk down the street with our head held high and everyone being jealous of us because of what we had.

I doubt any other fans were jealous. They just thought “oh that’s Leeds Utd give it five minutes and they’ll probably f**k it up. Yup, there you go”.

If f**king it up was a league then we’d be very successful.

We have won 11 games since Marcelo Bielsa left.

And here we are back to square 1.

We were struggling with him last year too. And didn't win a game with Cooper, KP and Bamford in the starting line up, before the injuries excuse rattles up.

For me that sums up this season. How many fans put last season simply down to injuries rather than a poor squad? No doubt the board said the same. Hence the stupidity that we could continue on in the same vein.

Bielsa admitted that he couldn't keep going for a 4th season with the same squad.

Blame it on Orta. He couldn't find the right players to keep us improving. Orta should have been replaced 2 years ago.
