I don't think the majority here realise the difference between a Championship player and a Prem player and definitely don't know about under 23 players stepping up.

And managers take all the blame for the tools they are handed being expected like Bert to work miracles ALL the time.

A very valid point Mr B. Farke took players who had been good enough to win the championship twice and couldn't do anything with them in the Prem. Bielsa took players that were mid table championship, guided them to the prem, had them more than making up the numbers and then even with half of those players out through injury still made it so that they were able to compete with most of the teams.

That is pretty s**t though isn’t it. It seems to suggest not only the players level but quite possibly the managers level. But if we want a quick return perhaps he may be the best option. Certainly better than Corberan Yawn & Gerrard Stroppy Scouser

I would suggest it is because people are dismissing Farke as an option for achieving less than a manager we sacked, and they wanted sacked, did. So it would seem whoever we appoint has to not only get us promoted but established as a top 6 side regardless of what level of financial backing he/she gets.

The players you need to get promotion aren't necessarily the ones you then need in the higher division, e.g. Vinnie Jones under Wilkinson.
Could well argue the same about a manager, although that would be an even harder decision to make.

I still think Gerardo "Tata" Martino would be a good pick for Leeds United in the Championship. His only job outside of the America's was with Barcelona. And that didn't go particularly well. Mostly because he employs a pressing and attacking style similar to Bielsa. At Barca he was forced to continue the Tiki Taka style. And it just didn't work. He then went to on to Manage MLS expansion side Atlanta United to an MLS Cup Championship and was named Manager of the Year.

NOTE: He is currently the favorite to become Manager of Inter Miami. They need an experienced Manager that can work with Messi. I guess Phil Neville was not the man for the job....

Phil Neville has been appointed to the coaching staff for the Canadian men's national team. He joins Richard Shaw (Palace, Coventry, Millwall) as part of John Herdman's coaching group to prepare for the next WC.

Do you think he could make the transition to the Championship?
Don't know too much about him. But 2 games a week for almost 9 months needs some related experience.
