That makes what Orta 'achieved' even worse. What Bielsa was able to do with all the players already at the club shows how it wasn't the case of Bielsa needing to handpick players but that he could improve anyone. So for so many of the signings to then fail is staggering.

Orta and Bielsa always had a weird obsession with running stats even when it showed poor end product.

They also between them had a strange thing with signing players who didn't suit the system.

Costa, James, Bielsa himself admitted as much in interviews.

Rodrigo was another one, didn't suit the system, you didn't need to be a scout to see that.

Junior Firpo, had 1 good season in his life, as a wing back in a back 3 system. Bielsa never played a conventional back 3.

Barry Douglas was the same, back 3 wing back.

It's even carried over to after Bielsa.

Marc Roca made his name as a holding midfielder, sit and spray passes forward, that's how he made his name. What he wasn't was a presser or a box to box midfielder, we asked him to be exactly what he wasn't and it was well known.

Rasmus Kristensen the whole of Austria knew he was to slow to be a full back in a team that doesn't dominate the ball as RB Salzburg do.

Brendan Aaronson was a throwback to the Bielsa (who approved the deal) of lots of running dire end product. What's happened? Exactly that.

I'm utterly convinced that actual scouting rarely happened at LUFC and hasn't for years.

Phil Hay has said we had a really small recruitment and scouting department not fit for a Premier League team and it shows.

We've been ran by data obsessive people for years, Orta was one, Bielsa and Marsch were the same.

So they've sat looking at spreadsheets and seen decent numbers in one area (Marc Roca progressive passing for example) and completely ignored anything else.

Brendan Aaronson runs his ass off lads, can't shoot or create for toffee but never mind his ppda is great.

I'm always happy to disagree with that.... I'm not a stats bound person so for me Orta has around 55% hit rate after the initial player rush we needed to put a team out after Cellino's reign...

We can argue all day about was it Bielsa or Orta or the Niners or Rads or the tea lady that bought which player to the club. Bielsa did what Bielsa does, he coaches a team properly, understands the game and gets players to play up to potential... If that potential is not there they'll fail.... Marcelo the Great was still mid process with a couple or three players when he was sacked...

Someone said recently that premier footballers are there because they're premier quality, but if the coaching/system/personal issues aren't right they'll fail at that club.. Doesn't mean they couldn't play at another club at the same level at a very high level...

Eh? We finished 7th in Cellino's last season. Most of the promoted team were Cellino signings too.

It's either clickbait - which would appear to be working - or complete stupidity. Sadly with our club you cannot rule that out although it would be stupidity of the highest order if it were true given that we signed them both prior to our first season in the premier league and statistics show that there was a high chance of us going down, if not in our first seaon then in our second. You would also think that if those sort of clauses existed then the club would have looked to renew the contracts last summer and get those clauses removed given how close we came to coming down.

I would rule it out as simply being clickbait but you just never know with this club.

I know many fans online don't rate Koch, whom in my opinion established a good partnership with Wober in the few games they played together. Apart from Tyler Adams, Robin received the highest amount of votes in our MOTM polls last season.

To give Koch away for nothing would be ludicrous!
