Something very dodgy going on here.

Clearlake Capital who are one of the major shareholders in Chelsea have PIF the state fund that runs Newcastle (but denies they are state governed) as major shareholders.

PIF also own multiple clubs in Saudi Arabia.

Chelsea need to sell for ffp reasons.

Random Saudi clubs buying there unwanted players.

It's not even subtle ffs

Ilkay Gundogan going to Barcelona so that's some problem for Pep to solve.

West Ham reported to be interested in Kalvin if Rice goes to City... Arsenal might look Kalvin's way too if Rice does go north

Isn't just Chelsea.

Still not quite understanding how nothing seems to have occurred regarding Newcastle and PIF.

The Premier League are on record for saying if they ever find out PIF is a state ran firm then they have the authority to disqualify them as owners of Newcastle.

Well as a matter of US Court record

PIF and Newcastle chairman and PIF governor Yasir al-Rumayyan describe the fund as a “sovereign instrumentality of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia,” and al-Rumayyan as “a sitting minister of the Saudi government.”

You can't get more clear than that

Simon Jordan said the same thing the other day. There's no doubt Saudicastle is state owned

You would imagine that will signal the end of KP at Man City.

He was barely getting a game last season.

They've signed Kovacic already and seem to be close to Rice.

Reports that Arsenal will look at Tyler Adams if they don't get Rice which seems a massive downgrade? Also not similar players but we will see.

Newcastle United have signed AC Milan and Italy midfielder Sandro Tonali.

The 23-year-old has signed a five-year contract, becoming Eddie Howe's first signing of the summer as his side prepares for Champions League football.

The reported £55m fee would make him the most expensive Italian footballer of all time.

Brentford have agreed a £23m deal to sign defender Nathan Collins from fellow Premier League side Wolverhampton Wanderers.

The Republic of Ireland international only moved to Wolves from Burnley for £20.5m last summer.

He had only spent one season at Burnley too after joining them from Stoke City in the summer of 2021.

Collins made 31 appearances for Wolves last season, helping them to finish 13th in the top flight.

Mason Mount said Erik ten Hag's Manchester United blueprint convinced him to leave boyhood club Chelsea.

The 24-year-old midfielder is Ten Hag's first signing of the summer in a transfer deal worth an initial £55m, plus a possible £5m in add-ons.

Granit Xhaka has left Arsenal to join German side Bayer Leverkusen in a 25m euro (£21.4m) deal.

Good fee for a 30yo.

Xhaha a funny one. Always looked a proper player for the Swiss but never seemed to be able to replicate that for the Arse on a regular basis. And you're right, Leon, decent fee.

Some clubs like Spurs, Scum, West Ham, Arsenal & others don't sell their players for next to nothing
