Kennyb41 wrote: ↑Mon Oct 23, 2023 9:53 am Listen, if i'm absolutely honest here, I really do feel he arrived here for me.

And it still is my thoughts and probably true, most here don't know the absolute pricks i've had to deal with elsewhere and the upset i've caused, i've been banned from sites and i literally have some knobheads following me around seeing where i end up.

Another site is apparently an 'anything goes' site where it's impossible to get banned - I was banned within hours because someone i'd got the better of elsewhere happened to be a mod there, I upset some soft twat/s so much they want me banished from the face of the earth, and when i'm not banished they set about trying to ruin the site.

And i strongly feel you've got one in the Indian.

So basically - It could be ALL my fault :)

So i apologise and can only hope you accept  (fckin hell, i ain't half changed :-D )

Anyway, where's The Oer in all of this, he knows the score ?

I appreciate that no one wants to see the forum ruined by running arguments and insults, but the tight-lipped 'we're all nice here' approach doesn't work either.

Agree that a certain amount of peer pressure would help to balance things out.
Totally agree, Sara. I don't think anyone should be banned for speaking their mind or defending themselves.

BTW are there clear rules of engagement for the boards--i.e., what is or is not an offense worthy of a ban? If not, seems like a disservice to members. Also, can one mod decide a ban on their own? If a mod does ban a poster, do they let the rest of the board and/or mods know the when, where, why? Again, it just feels like transparency would go a long way.

That's the thing you see, we don't get any transparency, i asked about telling us who's banned and for how long and i got no response, it leaves you guessing and ignored.

I mean, fck me c'mon, if you couldn't read between the lines of the disruption Geronimo was trying to cause and then ban Weasel, jeez, then you shouldn't be moderating anyway, that is a complete nonsense, and i can totally understand him for feeling aggrieved at the decision, it pizzes you off, and he shouldn't have to hold back and feel he's treading on eggshells coz of someone that's come here primarily to disrupt.

Didn't we used to refer to it as 'grenade' and be done ? Coz his posts seem to be littered with them, i don't mind the odd grenade, but fck me, please make them funny. He's a feckin borefest.

I wouldn't say the poppies were the issue, more the flung together nature of the 'design'.

Oh I see,
Well it's mainly about LUFC supporting the armed forces and the RBL , which I am involved in all 3.
My avatar goes up around this time of year for remembrance purposes to others, a lot of us remember all year round, but the RBL in particular isn't allowed certain priveliges because it's a charity.

Just noticed this thread.

Kenny posted earlier in the thread (page 1) the right response.

Some folk can ignore Geronimo and not bite at his bait.

Others try and debate with him, which is a waste of time.

Then there are folk who wear their hearts on their sleeves, take that bait and let the red mist cloud their responses.

Would banning Geronimo be the best course of action ?
It is a fine line to tread, whilst his posts are entirely negative he is not abusive per se. But his posts are designed to get a reaction.

Sara is spot on - if you ignore him he will soon disappear. As difficult as it is ( I also respond on occasion) folk just need to temper their replies.

Weasel will as Faaip ( refuse to use the new name ) says - return.
He is undoubtedly insightful but extremely defensive on occasion, which has created this issue. But the forum needs posters who enrich the content.

The moderators have a tough task - every decision has a consequence.
There is a request for additional mods. If you have strong views on positive adjustments, rather than criticise their actions, put yourself forward as a Mod and perhaps influence decision making going forwards.

like faaip, it's just a song title, though the irony in going from one to the other is not lost

Too deep for me mate.

I mainly listen to classical music.

My tastes in Pop, soul R&B etc are mainly based on something catchy.

One of my favourite bars in Covent Garden in years gone by. Albeit it was a jazz club.

I like classical not because I am pretentious - I just find it easier on the ear and less distracting when I am driving or working.

I suppose in many ways starting off as a tick tock marching to military music was the basis for my preference.

I frequently go to the Albert Hall - live classical music is just astounding for me. Totally different experience in comparison to recordings.
