That’s my point. Like I said not always been a great fan of DJ but I’d take him any day over a fat lazy slob with a bad attitude. Not aiming that entirely at WM, anyone who fits the bill.

I don't think anyone would fight you on that, JD. Just don't agree that Wes is only "A fat, lazy slob with a bad attitude." Sounds like I'm defending his time at Leeds but i'm not. He disappointed massively. Just saying it isn't so black and white and it's a shame Leeds didn't really get to benefit from the skills that he does have.

Wasn't Rutter a desperate lunge at the time at £37m, couldn't DF currently be putting a halt to another potential Ridsdale type collapse financial wise.

A bit unfair of me that last comment on DJ, he's obviously got some quality somewhere or he wouldn't be making it as a pro footballer, but his main attributes atm so young are quite obvious.

Well look at the overall picture.

We have this Weston McKennie, who had fitness and diet problems at Juventus. They couldn't sort it out so they decided to ship him out with an option to buy. Regardless of his issues we decided, and I imagine that Victor Orta and Jesse Marsch were the driving forces, to sign him on loan.

In his time with us WM either couldn't or wouldn't get himself to sort out his fitness problems. On the pitch he never looked fit enough or up for the fight or like he was putting in a shift all of which meant that he was never likely to endear himself to the fans and win them over. They never did. For Leeds he looked a waste of space and was a huge misadventure.

Then there was the hapless Jesse Marsch. All theory and no trousers. Marsch had no clue of how to get WM up to speed and to get the best out of him. Marsch might have thought that the fact that WM was an American International would be an advantage to him added to the matter of that other American International Brendan Aaronson in his midfield. In reality it didn't matter one iota. Both of those players miserably failed to produce and Marsch no idea how to sort it out. Review that second season for us with Jesse in charge and the conclusion you come to is that JM was completely out of his depth. McKennie had zero chance to succeed.

It turned out that Leeds decided, not surprisingly, not to take up the option to buy. Now it seems WM has sorted himself out and is playing well in Italy. Good luck to him. It's all water under the bridge but he wouldn't want to be playing Championship football and he wouldn't be able to last a whole season in the Championship IMHO - it's simply too fast and furious for him.

He had a 'mate' who kept posting online that McKennie was too good for Leeds, and that the only reason we didn't rate him was because he was American, etc etc.

McKennie had disciplinary issues around his diet and fitness at Juventus before he ever came to Leeds... again, no one at Elland Road is responsible for that (apart from the idiot who signed him). There was also that video of him talking to Chiellini (was it?), about putting ranch dressing on his pizza... as part of the diet of a professional footballer!

No idea what he's doing now, or whether he's sorted himself out, and I'm not interested... but the player we got was unfit, disinterested and disruptive.

I'm not too sure if i commented at the time that i'm not arsed if a player comes from the moon, i'll just judge his game at Leeds from my own eyes.

Seems to have sorted himself out and became am important player for Juventus this season.

7 assists in the league and now being linked with a move to Manure as he is out of contract next season.

Fair play.

Flip side is Premier League and Serie A different levels in terms of intensity and quality.

And has to be said compared to Juve teams of the past this is a poor one.

But would be interesting if he did come back see if he does better than last time.
