Great moment for Mateo today. And v Chelsea. Certainly looking like he has a bright future. I don't think he's immediately going to be starting games. But seeing him pushing Bamford closer and closer every week.

I would give him more game time now as wouldn't want to see him in a Joffy situation. Super subbing late goals can build an unrealistic expectation of doing it everytime he comes on. Then when the goals dry up it builds pressure on the lad without getting the minutes to gain the experience needed at senior level.

Agree with this , he needs more game time for his experience to gain.
Bamford was shite again with no hold up play whatsoever, but he'll still get in ahead of anyone else sadly.

Thank god, Mateo was involved towards the end of the game, however Joseph mis-kicked his first shot & I'm not entirely convinced he hit the ball for his goal, I've viewed the goal over & over again, and it looks like Joseph kicked the defender's leg & the ball flew into the net.

Maybe my new pair of spectacles are deceiving my eyesight. :geek:

I think the defender plays it onto Joseph's leg and it rebounds into the goal. But right place, right time is what you want from a striker.

Yes he did, I only realised after several views of the goal, it's nice to score messy goals, they all count the same.
