Re: Leeds Utd v Sunderland Match Thread
Apparently a good omen as the Sunderland team coach today had a parking ticket slapped on it !

Think the problem for me is the "stuff" he is meant to be good at hasn't been there either last 4 or 5 games.
He did have a very decent spell but all of a sudden it turned into how dare anyone question Bamford.
But for all the praise of Bamford and criticism of Piroe.
The goals scored is basically identical per minute for them (1 every 186).
And Piroe has 2 more assists so actually Piroe whilst playing as a midfielder has had a better goal contribution rate than Bamford.
Also a far better pass accuracy (81% to 72%)
More chances created per game and fewer bad touches per game.
More tackles, more interceptions and more blocks per game.
Actually take away running stats and Bamford doesn't beat Piroe on anything this season.
So is DF picking Bamford for that reason?
And if so just on my eye test I'd say Joseph runs a lot so if running is the primary requirement for a striker according to DF why not atleast play the one whose scored a few recently?

Good Morning from sunny and warm Arizona!!
Today's match is critical in my view if we are to have any chance at automatic promotion. I think we will need to win our remaining 3 home matches. And at least get results on the road. But we can do it!!

At least we will not have to come up with any new complaints

Fair point that Dan didn’t look great because we weren’t crossing the ball to his side. Let’s hope that changes.1964white wrote: ↑Tue Apr 09, 2024 5:59 am I don't think James has been that bad since his return to team four matches ago.
Two goals in those four games.
Against Coventry
5 good passes
4 excellent crosses
3 crosses blocked
2 runs
1 excellent pass
1 shot blocked
1 tackle
I have noticed particular against Coventry, Dan was in oceans of space unmarked but the likes of Ampadu, Gruev, Kamara & Rutter refused to pass the ball to him, we always seem to go left to Summerville who is often doubly marked or go down the congested middle route.
We should be using Dan's immense pace by lobbing the ball over the top a few times, not the case, we just play tippy-tappy short passes that generally sees us going backwards as opposed to getting the ball forward.

Disappointing, but completely expected. Let’s hope they turn up!

you say "I'm not sure you understand football enough"Kennyb41 wrote: ↑Tue Apr 09, 2024 3:14 pm I'm not sure you understand football enough to work out what's been happening recently tbh.
But anyhoos, we'll see what happens for the remainder, when DF goes back on the front foot and the 3 behind including the LB and RB + Kamara join in.
And i'll stick to my prediction of 'We quite simply go up if PB stays fit'
No need
Must dash.
I know for CERTAIN that you do not understand football

We have the players to finish in the top 2 this season, just need DF to pick players in form OR at least bring on subs at HT for those players not performing
Re: Leeds Utd v Sunderland Match Thread
With the season we've had so far we've got to back Farkes judgement....despite our 'layman' counter arguments.....but I feel pretty sure that if it goes wrong tonight it's play offs here we come !
