Striker selection poll

Post by Cjay »

Kill some time before next match.

If you were manager for our remaining games then who do you play upfront?

Mateo Joseph

Patrick Bamford

Joel Piroe

Joe Gelhardt

Georginio Rutter.

Joseph for me, can't do any worse than the fraud that's for sure.

Voted for Joseph although if he doesn’t take his chance who do we substitute him for 🤔 I could handle bringing Bamford on if we’re 2/3 up but not if we’re getting beat or level, still think we would have won on Saturday if nor for the crazy substitutions. Need to get off this fence, starting to chafe 😮

What did you see that I did not see in thinking we would have won the game
Entitlement perhaps?

I have gone for the forgotten man in Joffy. Although if Creswell was on there i would have gone for him.

1. Joseph
2 Gnonto
3. Piroe
4. Bamford
5. Gelhardt
6. Geo

but four of those are midfielders and one has lost the form/confidence/reason to play striker

Not a bad call to be fair, we'd score from corners

He'd be more useful than the other Nine players in the box put together.

Sunderland played Gelhardt as the 9 last season, did ok when forced into a position he doesn't play. He's a 10

Yeah, I've gone for Mateo too, sadly Paddy is back in one of his ruts and may not escape by May 4th.

He might have a say in the playoff games though, that's football after all.

And what if Mateo has an absolute mare? the lad's confidence will be shot.

The only evidence our fans are going on is his goals in a cup match against Chelsea.

Remember what happened when Joffy started.

I pray for him if Joseph does start, that all goes well for the young man.

Don’t think entitlement came into, probably just blind faith & maybe I’m a tad more gullible than you. Maybe Joseph for Piroe would have made the difference but not taking off nearly our whole midfield at once. We’ll never know.

The lad has got fire in his belly Leon, real desire, something I don’t see in a couple of our players at the moment.

It may be too early for him, but if we don’t try, we won’t know. I think he’s some sort of relative of Emile Heskey, his dads cousin I think from memory, so we might have a world beater on our hands 😂😂😂

Joseph for me. Pat's streak is over and Joel, whose goals at this level should make him a shoe-in, has had his confidence knocked by being played out of position/underused/not suited to the system. The fear that Matteo might fail is, for me, unfounded; he's full of confidence and I suspect he can handle a few groans if he misses a sitter, every striker does. He's gotta be worth a shot

Joseph losing out in Rondo and having a spat with Bamford. Bad attitude just like Summerville with his ball grabbing penalty.

Bamford not in the best vein of productivity at the moment. Not firing on all cylinders. Experience, been there done that.

Piroe underused though did well in the championship last year. Sitting on the bench has not been good for his confidence.

Rutter recovering from surgery. Does not have a record of scoring. He is more of a playmaker, if he doesn't loose the ball.

Gelhardt the Forgotten man and rusty. He has had very little game time, but is famed for last minute goals.

Who would be a manager?

Well hopefully Farke or he needs to go, he also needs to ignore the AI that some here seem to swear by and just manage.
