Re: Today's Games
That's a terrible result for us. No doubt they will play out of their skins v us though

Well for those of us that actually CARE about winning trophies I guess we can put that thought to bed...

Re: Today's Games
Leicester as good as promoted. One win from their last two to make it certain but they might not even need that.
Hopefully Hull can win tomorrow so they're still in with a chance of the play offs

Cloud and silver lining - if we do go up with Leicester then hopefully they will be hit with a sizeable points penalty which will hopefully see them occupy one of the relegation places nadm ake it easier for us to stay up.YorkshireSquare wrote: ↑Tue Apr 23, 2024 8:42 pm I felt Leicester would kick on and win the title after the West Brom game. Between us and Ipswich now!

Re: Today's Games
Wouldn't rule it out yet albeit we will have to take at least 4 points to have a chance. Leicester's wins in recent weeks have come against Southampton, WBA and Norwich who were all top 6 sides but they have had some unexpected losses against the lower sides. Hopefully the pressure still gets to them. Saints were simply woeful tonight and offered no fight. Preston should hopefully have a bit more about them than Southampton did, less skill but far more fight. Blackburn who knows.BlackHillsPaul wrote: ↑Tue Apr 23, 2024 8:47 pm Well for those of us that actually CARE about winning trophies I guess we can put that thought to bed...
Re: Today's Games
For GD to come into play with Leicester we would either have 94 or more likely 96 points.
Lets hope Ipswich have dropped a point by then.

Or we can benefit from the one the Blunts will inherit next season when they go down

Re: Today's Games
He won't.
Russell Martin is one of those "trust the process" project coaches.
He will just see it as part of "the process".

Isn’t this what most managers do. ?
CJAY, I get the feeling that you interview prospective partners, and then look for the negatives before considering the positives.
Re: Today's Games
Absolutely not
2nd paragraph is correct though,
But managers learn and adapt, they don't just repeat season after season and ignore the obvious weaknesses.
In Martin's case his teams have conceded 60+ goals in every single full season he's managed.
The flaw isn't a mystery but his ability to fix it clearly is.

I suppose it depends if they have 'processes' that Cjay likes.....
Re: Today's Games
I remember once when he was at MK Dons, they were pointlessly passing across the back 5 for ages, then ended up gifting a goal awayCjay wrote: ↑Tue Apr 23, 2024 9:32 pm Absolutely not

Certainly looks like it's between us and Ipswich now.
They have to deliver in three games rather than out two and have a tougher run in overall I think.
