It just seems Martin has Farkes number. Happens in sport sometimes. I’d have liked anyone bar them in the final.

No space for us to work with and our forward are double teamed
The first goal was crucial and they got it.

When Ampadu pushed up he had to get the ball and didn't. Plus nobody tracked Armstrong, he was in acres of space and finished well.

They just looked better coached than we do

Better defensively organised hence why we create nothing.

Better on the ball hence why they have.

Midfield the issue for me. They are moving their forwards into running space whereas we are trying to push it to standing feet, and they have it covered. Needs to see how DF reacts to this. At the minute we are second best .

This half we've not turned up again when it really matters. Southampton haven't really had to work for it.

Farke needs to demonstrate his footballing acumen and turn this shite around.

TheirCF moved forward without being challenged which meant Kamara was teased out of position and Ampadu went to cover. Could argue that was down to Piroe. That was a chess move of a goal.

100% OB

Farke needs to sort it out as they look completely comfortable without the ball, and look like scoring every time they come forward.

Thats becuase they have 5 at the back.
Hard to get space in there, but we are too slow with pour crossing

As we know there will be zero half time subs.

70 mins is when they happen and prob too late.

Piroe not doing a lot
Gnonto has been marked out of the game
Summerville not cutting it.
Midfield is sieve like

Therefore….
Roberts on which opens up Gnonto on the right
Gray to mid and kamara off
Piroe for Joseph but not quite yet.

It was well played and perfectly timed as all their attacks have been.

We move the ball so slowly.

We aren't capable of putting together slick passing moves so we just dick around side to side.

Then pass it to Rutter and hope for the best.

It reminded me of us under Bielsa in the Prem when the opposition forwards would get our CBs to track them to midfield and then just chip it over them for the cavalry charge.

They all sussed that one out.

Give it till 60, then a rethink is needed, earlier if they get the next one... Summerville and Gnoto need to switch at times, lets get Firpo in behind the defence. We've passed on that a few times in the first half with Cry turning back.

All feels very scripted so far...
