I could see him being useful, if only off the bench at first. He'd be useful for some late energy and pace in the last 20 minutes. Obviously, he'll want to progress to the starting 11. But I could see him being happy coming off the bench for a season. I reckon he'd be useful to most of the top teams.

His take is that the deficit is somewhat less because the fees for Adams and Sinisterra haven't been factored in yet (about 45 million I think)
But won't take into account the £30-40mil we spent last summer either.

Good point.
Transgermarkt says 35 Euros spent and 33 Euros received. But they don't include the Sinisterra fee. Maybe that's not paid until the end of the loan. So more or less even then we get 20m pounds for Sinsiterra.

Summerville wont get a game at Chelsea, neither will Gray in any of the top 6.

Although what we spent will be amortised. So even if £40m likely to be only £8m to £10m per year.

Depends on the deals struck I guess.
For example we might accept £10M for Harrison if all paid up front and the same sort of deals could be negotiated for any of our players who are already paid off in the accounts.

Re: Summer transfer and squad discussion
Kinnear did say they took slightly less money on Phillips and Raphinha to get paid up front. A different board this time, but wonder if that continued to be the policy.
As best I can figure, anyway, we're about 20 million quid up this season after the Sinisterra deal.

Helps from an ffp point of view and a cash flow one I suppose
But it's a very short term solution.
Not promoted next season and we have another £120mil to find atleast.
Feels very house built on sand.

Don't think it's as much as that?andrewjohnsmith wrote: ↑Tue May 28, 2024 9:45 pm Kinnear did say they took slightly less money on Phillips and Raphinha to get paid up front. A different board this time, but wonder if that continued to be the policy.

I don't really understand ffp and all that.
They accepted less because we were desperate for immediate cash flow from Raph and KP.
I suppose if it's the same they'd do it again? But then what is the point aren't the new owners meant to be more competent?

I don't understand FFP either. All I can quote is the nest sum of the transfer fees. If you look at Transfermarkt, we virtually broke even on ins and outs this season. But the Sinisterra deal isn't included. So, simply put, the net profit is the Sinisterra fee - which I presume gets listed at the end of his loan.Cjay wrote: ↑Tue May 28, 2024 9:53 pm Don't think it's as much as that?

There might be additional incomings for loans to permanent: Poveda being the only one I can think of.

That's the way it is and if you get back up by the skin of your teeth like Villa then it's all good.

If we can't afford Rodon or he won't come then we need to look at Ronnie Edwards

Re: Summer transfer and squad discussion
No ffp doesn't work like that, just one of many reasons why it is unfit for purpose. If you sell a player then the whole transfer fee is counted as you no longer have the player (not sure if it is different though if it is staggered payments but presume it would be which is why we wanted money up front for KP rather than in installments).
It really is unecessarily complicated. We may still be receiving money for Raphinha that hasn't been accounted for. We may be paying out for JKA etc etc
Happy to leave it to the club to work it all out. Sell who needs to be sell, hopefully quickly, and then give Farke a transfer budget.

Re: Summer transfer and squad discussion
I don't see why we would owe £120m this season and then next. At most we spent around £200M on players in the prem but we recouped around £100m for KP and Raphinha. As such that is a transfer defecit of £100m Now even if all the tv revenue went on wages it would still at worst be that we owed £100m maybe £140m if we include JKA and wages.
So let's say we have rolled on a debt accrued from day 1 in the prem and owe £140m (I can't see why it would be given that surely we'd have paid a fair chunk off by now given it is 4 years since we bought Rodrigo, Koch etc). So that figure should have come down by around £20m given we sold Rodrigo, Adams and Sinisterra and bought Piroe, Ampadu, Gruev and Kamara.
So if we do owe around £120m that would be total debt not that we have to find that each season.

How, why, who I've no idea.
But we owe £73million due in June.
And £120million due in 2025 and 2026, I bow to the knowledge of people who know more kn that but that is what's been said.
The £73mil is definitely due.
As it was put in one article we used the LUFC credit card but time for payback is due.

£190mil due overall maybe 60mil next summer 60 mil summer after.
It's not unusual for Premier league clubs is the gist.
But it's not sustainable in the Championship for obvious reasons hence why promotion this season was really important.
We seem safe ffp wise this season and the owners have the wealth to plug the gap short term.
But the transfer debt every season not promoted becomes more of an issue and the owners simply can't pump money in to cover it ffp wise.
