Looked a nervous wreck in the 1st leg

A save tonight of such massive potential importance that he deserves extra credit.

Ampadu owes him a pint, wine, champagne, whiskey, whatever he wants.

Well done Mes!!!!!!
Possibly a crucial save and seemed to give him confidence too as his handling and kicking/passing was decent.

I agree. That goes in and it's 2-1 and all of a sudden the jitters kick in, I thought we improved as a team after that save.

Great watch Ash.

Now give that lad some credit there, and some now in the bank.

That was a top top save, he can only get better with experience like that. Look how his eyes are transfixed on the ball and feet of Sargent trying to spot what he's gonna do, LesMes spreads himself fantastic for a number of eventualities that Sargent may do.

The lad is pretty decent for how we play, he just needs some courage and strength in the air.

I don't know when or what will make that happen, but it will come. (I do know what actually, GET IN THE FECKIN GYM!)

Yes, most of the top keepers are built like brick air-raid shelters these days.

But that save and the one against the Foxes, in the last minute at their place, were both top draw.

For all his faults, I think Ilan is Leeds now and that counts for a lot in my book

Always seemed likely he'd go last summer. And for a decent sum. But nothing followed through. Going into January 2023, he was highly valued. Then that abysmal team collapse towards relegation took a lot out of his stock. Unfairly. But you could question his mental fortitude through it all.

I really rate him as a talented keeper. Makes some eye catching saves. And the other areas of his game you'd expect to improve with experience.

Outside interest might be legitimate. You could see attraction for him in a move to France. But he did say last summer, when we thought he'd leave, that he wouldn't leave to play back up somewhere else. My thoughts are he'll be at Leeds for another year.

Could live with that. James for Gnonto, but who for Mes?

I don't think Klaessen is ready. He's only played 4 games for us. I'd send him out for a good full season loan.

If they're willing to let Meslier go, they must have a shortlist ready.

Would love to see more ambition in keeper recruitment.
Most clubs skimp.

Would Everton still be in the Premier League without Pickford.

Schmeichel Snr won multiple leagues for Ferguson. Jnr was critical for Leicester in their win
win.

Etc etc

A really good keeper won’t cost you points.
A really superb keeper will win you points

Tough position …. Mentally and physically .

One of the biggest clubs in French football can't afford to buy Meslier because of his salary

What ludicrous wages are we paying

Most likely means Marseille want players for next to nothing. Glad we have the right people in charge now that dont just sell players as soon as a club puts in an offer.

If a good offer does come in, I’d have no objection to a sale.

A decent enough young keeper, but nothing special for me.

I would have liked to have seen Mes having improved a lot more than he has of late. I believe there is a lot more to come from him, but he seems to be progressing at a slow rate. Nothing in the last couple of seasons have said to me this is a keeper we cant afford to loose. If he stays i really hope he can put in a run of good confident performances this season and show he is worth keeping hold of. But if we are to replace him we have to bring in someone who well experienced and can hit the ground running. Not another young keeper with potential, who could set us back again in that department.
