Breakfast Debate The #LUFC Breakfast Debate (Monday 29th July) - Farke doesn't expect Summerville speculation to end anytime soon

Post by Ellandback1 »

Good Morning. It's Monday 29th July, and here are the latest headlines from Elland Road...

Farke doesn't expect Summerville speculation to end anytime soon

Daniel Farke isn't expecting transfer talk around Crysencio Summerville to end any time soon, according to YEP Chief Football Writer Graham Smyth. On the home front, Fulham, West Ham and Liverpool are keeping close tabs on the 22yo Dutchman, with further interest from the continent. As of yet, no official bids have been put forward but we do know that representatives from Liverpool and West Ham have both made contact with him.

Leeds can ill-afford to lose their best player this late into the Summer. The season starts in less than a fortnight, and replacing him would be a nightmare! Journalists have intimated that Leeds have two players up their sleeves, in-case Summerville or Gnonto should leave. Just like Blackburn have done with Sammie Szmodics, Leeds need to put a time constraint on either of our top two leaving. The closer we get to deadline day, the more difficult it will be to replace either star, not to mention the asking price is bound to go up!

Leeds - shirts are falling apart again

There have been reports from angry Whites fans on social media with issues about their new Leeds shirts, just days after purchasing them. Dozens of supporters have reported issues with the material of the quality, such as the fabric being too thin, see-through, or easily snagged. Some have reported rips after everyday use and even bubbling, after washing the shirt for the first time!

Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, if an item is faulty or not fit for purpose, you have the right to return the goods and demand a refund, repair or replacement (within 30 days of receiving the goods). If you splash out £65 on a shirt, you expect it to last, at least the season. For faults to appear on the first or send time of wearing it, is unacceptable. It's worth noting that not all fans have experienced these issues. In-fact 75% of those polled have not experienced any problems, but they've only been available for a few days, so don't be surprised if that percentage drops!

Farke to raid former club for star player

Leeds are reportedly lining up a bid for Norwich City £15m rated sensation Gabriel Sara. The Brazilian had an impressive season in the Championship last year, contributing to 25 goals (scoring 13 and assisting 12) in 46 appearances. Leeds see Sara as a potential replacement for Archie Gray. However, they face competition from Crystal Palace, Leicester City, and Galatasaray, as well as Italian club Atalanta. He prefers to play with his left foot and primarily plays as a central midfielder. Gabriel Sara has been a key player for Norwich City since joining the club, contributing significantly to their attack with his goal-scoring and assist-making abilities.

Whilst Sara would represent a top notch capture, I can't help but think that we'd only be signing him to soften the blow if our Talisman leaves! Summerville is not replaceable; his departure would severely weaken our automatic promotion hopes. At-least with Sara, we'd have the strongest central midfielder outside the Premier League, and still have ample cash to tie up a deal for Liam Millar for £2.5m due to the length of his contract!

Jeans have been prewashed and faded to give the appearance they have been owned for a long time. Jeans with rips at the knees. Leather bags appropriately scuffed at the corners to give that antique appearance. It is all the rage to wear items that are distressed.

With the new Leeds kit that falls apart so easily you will no longer be classed as a johnny come lately, for to the undecerning eye you will present the image of being a fan forever.

Morning EB et all,

Cree will be the target of many a club this summer, so if Leeds are able to put a deadline on the transfer happening that's a good move, apparently Cree isn't in a rush to move on, and we aren't desperate for money so can afford to dig our heels in and only let him go if we get top dollar.

Leeds Shirts are falling apart again, did Addidas buy them from Macron?

100% we should get Sara if we can, get addition to the team.

I'd imagine Sara is the option should we lose Summerville .... Wonder if we've checked those "replacements" want to come to Leeds

I thought she was no longer on MOT, but if Leeds want to play the DEI card and have a lady on the team then why not!?

The club need to set a deadline on when players crucial to the season can be sold - money on deadline day will do us no good whatsoever- maybe our asking prices are too high but at least for this season there seems no need for us to panic sell

If I splashed out 65 quid on clothing it needs to last 10 years, anyway football shirt material is just nasty. Looks ugly, feels worse...

In general football shirts do last a long time, I still have many from years ago that are still in good nick.

Of course they become dated due to to other reasons.
I'm surprised the new ones are poorly made, especially the yellow one which I was tempted to pick up at some point.

I had the 21/22 home kit and that nicked really badly in the washing machine the first time I washed it and was fine thereafter- I don’t think they are bad quality the material when it’s more like fabric and not that silky polyester stuff can catch

Our asking prices are only too high if the object of the exercise is to get the players sold . Despite the understandable pain of having to sell Archie it has had the benefit that when it comes to players who could make a difference to promotion that they can simply say 'pay the value or sling your hook'. A lot of the clickbait being generated in relation to Summerville and Gnonto has the smell of vultures trying to generate a similar situation to last summer and being frustrated. While ideally another midfielder and full back would be desirable there is an argument that if the window closed now with us keeping Summerville , Gnonto and Rutter that it wouldn't be the worst outcome.

I have a Spanish football shirt at least 10 years old and still looks as if it were knew so it can be done (and I wear it regularly when I am playing footy). However I do feel that it is in the interests of the shirt manufacturers to make shirts that only last a couple of years so that more people end up buying a new one.
