Sub, I concur. We definitely are the City of the ‘ship this year (and IMHO last year with the exception of Leicester). No reason why we don’t start hot out of the gate and then maintain a consistent, sustainable pace as one of the two front-runners. At least that’s how I see it breaking. The Subhuman wrote: ↑Sun Aug 04, 2024 9:49 pm We won't be, don't see us out of the playoff spots tbh, once we're 4/5 games into the season. If we're say 8th-10th come November then something will have gone seriously wrong. Man City mid table at Christmas, wrong... We are the Man City of the Championship this season ... We probably were last season

55 years supporting Leeds United, so yes he is, Swannie.
I know a few fans from the Revie-era who are constantly negative, must be awful existence.
Personally, I prefer to keep a positive mind in everything I love in life.

Everyone's different, and he's a lot better than he used to be when he first joined and has made valid points. As it stands we have the leagues best team and by a distance. But also as it stands we'll struggle to go 50 plus games as it's a very shallow squad and we'll also struggle if we get a spate of injuries. 4/5 injuries in this squad right now would not be good

Without knowing enough about Burnley, Sheff U and Luton's teams I would think we do have the best team. I think we are a lot closer to a well rounded team than we were last season, especially at the start of the season. If we aren't in at least the play-off picture in Decmber then something will have gone very wrong. It is the championship and there will be bumps along the road but I see more goals in this team, despite Summerville's departure, than last season and also no reason why we aren't as good defensively, if not better..The Subhuman wrote: ↑Mon Aug 05, 2024 7:49 am Everyone's different, and he's a lot better than he used to be when he first joined and has made valid points. The team spirit seems good, there seems to be a bond between most of the players that was seemingly not there at the start of last season with players, Adams, Sinisterra and Gnonto, wanting to leave. It seems good that Rutter, if reports are true, was encouraging the crowd not to boo Aaronsen and Wober. If Rutter takes Aaronsen under his wing I think it could do wonders for Aaronsen as Rutter seems like an infectious type of guy that makes you feel happier.
I am looking forward to this season and whatever it brings.

Could all change of course but Burnley have lost almost nobody.weasel wrote: ↑Mon Aug 05, 2024 8:26 am Without knowing enough about Burnley, Sheff U and Luton's teams I would think we do have the best team. Muric, Charlie Taylor and that's about it.
Sander Berge, Jordan Beyer, Maxime Estève, Han-Noah Massengo, Mike Tresor, Manuel Benson, Wilson Odobert,
Good players they have for this level
And Scott Parker for all people mock him has a flawless Championship record, 2 promotions from 2.
Don't know much about Luton and Blunts but Burnley atm are in very good shape.

24 points in the PL, 7 fewer points than when we were relegated.Cjay wrote: ↑Mon Aug 05, 2024 12:14 pm Could all change of course but Burnley have lost almost nobody.

Little interest might be the reason Burnley are holding onto their players.

True.
But people like Maxime Estève and Wilson Odobert are still young and highly rated.
Sander Berge and Manuel Benson are proven at this level.
It's a strong squad, deeper than ours I'd say

I read reports that Kompany had put together a mishmash team last season, the Clarets are one of a few teams who could challenge Leeds IMO.

Still got quite a few of the squad who got 100+ points.
Parker has 2 promotions from 2.
And they've got a massive squad
I doubt we have more than 20,21 unless you include kids with 0 first team experience

A knighthood already. Well played Sir Swannie of Ipswich
