We're probably a upper mid table team right now, still some good players but a far cry from the 23/24 team. Are high quality possible incomings looking at the talent stripping and saying yes that's the club for me?
I think Gnonto goes in the next two weeks, we at least have to plan for it, I'd love Wober to go

They plan for it ... like they should have planned for Summerville/Gray and Kamara. The Niners would have known it was there having had a large say in the contract originally

We've had poor owners for many decades, the previous owners implemented these release clauses.
This current board haven't been aggressive in any of the transfer windows, as Marathe promised in his opening interview, after the 49ers had announced they had taken full control of our club.
We should be more reactive, truth is we are about as aggressive as a stale rice pudding.

Agree about Gnonto. Don't see a world in which he stays. Ditto on Wober going...I kept thinking last night that he either looked lost or like his heart wasn't in it. Couldn't decide which.

Problem is If he keeps putting in woeful performances and not trying, no one will want him!
As for Gnonto, he has no release clause (for now). Time to buckle up and hit 20 goals.

This board will insist Bogle & Rothwell are world beaters, truth is they are cheap options.
They have failed to snap up key players who were available, allowing lesser clubs to take advantage whilst we stand still pondering.

He doesn't want to be here, makes no sense to me why he would. He walked out on the club last season after the season had started because a guaranteed first team starters place wasn't good enough. Why would he want to return to sit on the bench this season? Especially after a good season in the Bundesliga. We're either playing hardball or we've sweetened a deal but it's very unlikely we get much from him
Last night he was better second half for a bit after a bad first half. One wonders if Farke, tactfully, reminded him he was in the shop window

The signings of Rothwell and Cairns were writing on the wall.. The second I saw Rothwells tape and looked at his history etc it screamed lower championship journeyman and it told me where we were looking for players.
Rothwell can look good, might weigh in with 3/4 goals, couple of assist. But he's a heads down player who, can run with the ball, but runs into blind alleys and has almost zero vision. As I say poor mans Forshaw and I liked Forshaw.

I can't hide my disappointment, I'm drained by it all.
You only had to be standing on the terraces at ER for our opening two games to realise things are not right, meanwhile everything is negative in the background.
The only enjoyable moment I can take from yesterday's debacle with the Rutter announcement finishing me off, is chanting Luke Ayling's name, a player no longer on our books.

Tbf Rothwell just helped Southampton to promotion and was promoted two years ago with Bournemouth. We need a bit of experience to get promoted. We had none last season.
As for Cairns, he was for the homegrown numbers. Like Man Citeh signing Carson.
