Isaac Schmidt - Joins Young Boys

Post by Cjay »

Coming thick and fast.

German media say we have agreed a £3.5mil deal for St Gallen Swiss army knife Issac Schmidt.

24 year old right footed Swiss Youth International.

Spent his entire career in Switzerland.

Appear to have beaten Bundesliga side Werder Bremen to his signature.

He has a couple of goals and assists this season already.

A right footed left back strangely he has played all over the place in his career.

Right wing, left wing, right back as well.

I can't say any more because I don't know any more and very little information on him as a player

He sounds just the sort of player we need, young, versatile & I’d reckon a bench warmer to start. The sceptic in me worries were being fed these signings & at the last minute we lose Gnonto to a late bid, the optimist hopes we hold onto him & maybe get Hamer or similar & the new boys turn out to be the bargains of the century.

Assuming then he's been signed as another option at right back and left back

Thanks again Cjay.

Like the look of this guy and the main question will be how he adjusts to playing in the Championship.

If we lose Gnonto tomorrow it would absolutely stink as no reason for such a deal to be done at the last minute.

Basically he’s a 100% starter against Hull and it would make a mockery of all the preparation Farke and the players have put in this week.

Seems to be an Alio type, converted winger. Worked out well last time.

I think Willy stays, if we lose one more player it's likely to be Wober who really doesn't to be at Leeds atm... Then we're down to 2 central defenders

Seems like we've filled every position Farke highlighted. Assuming nobody else leaves.

24yo youth international.

Reminds me of that Only Fools and Horses episode where the Trotters won a family and Rodsers has to run about wearing shorts.

Injury to Rodon or Joseph will have massive implications imo. Still not sure who our ten is.

We have 3 strikers.

Ampadu can cover Rodon. Not ideal to lose him from midfield. But we have 4 experienced midfielders now. Plus Crew.

Not seen Amps as a right sided CB yet, assume he can play it. He is a much better DMF than CB though. Striker wise we have a Bamford who's knees are fucked and Piroe who is poor in the lone 9

With Ampedu being right footed you'd think he'd be more suited to playing right side centre half rather than on the left like last season. Bottom line is he covers both if needed but obviously not at the same time :)

If we lose Gnonto, going into the Hull game without Willy & the injured Dan James could be the kiss of death for us, especially as the new signings won't be ready to start.

Sheesh!!!

Oh and remember how Rodon had his head bandaged has he every really recovered from that, and I'm afraid Struijk will have a relapse from his operation, and Wober wants away, and someone will come in for Willy at the last moment, and these new boys need time to bed in, an Piroe is slow, and Bamford's knees have gone, and Dan has a hamstring problem, and Ethan has run himself into the ground, and Spider boy can't command his box , and Gurev is homesick for goulash, and Aaronson will never redeem himself the traitor, and Joseph is too young and inexperienced, and Bogle and Firpo are both liabilities, and ER is a disgrace, with the toilets a shambles, and Farke can't make the correct subs and if he does it's always too late, just like the 49ers leaving the transfer window too late, and we've lost all our best players, and sold them for a pittance of what they are really worth... oh and did you notice the sky was falling?

We're doomed I tell you, doomed. Hull will thrash us.
