However it opens up opportunities for our new signings Tanaka, Rothwell & Ramazani and as they will now get a run of games it might all work out in the long run.
Indeed. It is an opportunity for others to shine and increases the possibility of goals form midfield. Largey has taken his opportunity.

Rothwell in particular was looking like he might only get a few minutes here and there yet now there's a real opportunity to show what he can do. When you also take into account he's on loan and clearly available from his parent club I'd say it's a massive chance for him to shine and impress in the brightest of spotlights.

Possibly too much wishful thinking on my part but hey some of us are optimists.

It's a wait and see scenario at the moment similar to Pascal last season.

 Still bad injury and it could still mean the knife which would prolong the absence

I'm a little depressed as it means more Rothwell, a player I really hate watching, think Billy Paynter was the last so it's been a while. I'm normally the player positive guy. I've even been called biased a few times.

I think Rothwell will be better than you think. He hasn't been as good as I hoped he would be. But I thought he improved 2nd half against Norwich. I'm optimistic that we'll see some decent stuff from him now he's guaranteed a run of games. He's certainly a more attacking alternative to our other center mids. So, him getting a few games might actually work out well.

If Leeds didn’t have bad luck we would have no luck at all, both first choice centre mids getting injured for months in consecutive games is so unlikely yet at the same time entirely predictable. If we get through tomorrow with both struijk and rodon still standing I’ll be amazed.

Know Farke clearly isn't keen on the free agent market.

Don't imagine anyone is keen on it.

But needs must and all that.

Decent is relative I suppose.

They are all free agents for a reason

Age
Injury problems

Etc.

Christoph Kramer stands out imo because he knows Farke from Mönchengladbach, decent pedigree but 33 years old and no stranger to the physio.

Edouard Michut is younger, did ok at Sunderland few years ago but isn't really a defensive midfielder.

Francis Coquelin similar to Kramer decent pedigree but fitness issues and age.

Nobody is ideal but isn't an ideal situation

Two injuries to the heart of our midfield in the space of three days is terribly bad luck.

No good crying over spilt milk, we'll just have to manage & hope for the best.

Problem is, bringing in any one of these players is going to take six weeks before they are even close to be considered in the starting line-up.

Not a fan of Rothwell either to be honest, however some posters think he did well against Norwich so I'll accept that my negative starting point may be swaying me at the moment.

We might be able to bring Gyabi back in January as he's looked decent so far for Plymouth.

After tomorrow we've one game in 3 weeks, that should be enough time to get a free agent up to fitness to play some part.

Not like Farke plays some intricate flexible highly coached system.

"If you get the ball pass it back or sideways and under no circumstances go into the box, shoot or play a forward pass or make a forward run.

Do the safest most dull thing you can whenever you get the ball lad"

Simple enough for a new midfield signing :)

Never understood why football is made out to be so complex.
Does an incoming player need a PHD to understand the system.
Nowadays they show you an ipad and menu before coming on.
