Re: Leeds United v Derby County Match Thread
This is going to sound very churlish after yet another comfortable home win as well as returning back to the top of the division but our home games are mostly incredibly boring and predictable. Honestly I'm not sure it's worth all the time, money and effort as the entertainment factor isn't really high enough to justify attending, especially when it's a 12-30 KO as well. Also it wouldn't really make much difference if the result/scoreline changed as it's the actual game itself which is repeating itself on a loop with only the oppositions kit colour changing.
Hopefully a proper game of football breaks out on Tuesday night against Boro.

Of course we are not playing well we are playing so badly we are top of the league, and we have to rely on our defenders to score goals, it's sickening how many clean sheets we have at home. I am disgusted with these performances.

we are 2nd not top. And yes although we have the "best" attacking 4 forwards we rely on our defenders to score

City won the European whatnot because of a goal from their defensive midfielder. Do you think they should sell Haaland and DeBruyne?

Don't know how much of that you can put down to our side, though. The large majority of teams come to ER and put ten men behind the ball. Derby certainly did, even down a goal.
Do think Middlesbrough will try and attack, though.

Results and performance wise at home we are the model of consistency but do you actually enjoy the matches themselves ? I'm not talking about the day as a whole but just the 90 mins of football in isolation.
This is nothing to do with Farke, or the style of play but more the division we're in and the opponents we have to face.

Re: Leeds United v Derby County Match Thread
It's a combination of factors John and certainly teams like Plymouth & Derby etc have shown zero ambition to get over the half way line. Obviously their game plan revolves around keeping it tight for as long as possible and somehow nicking a goal from a set piece which unfortunately doesn't make for great entertainment, especially when it's virtually the same every home game.John in Louisiana wrote: ↑Mon Dec 09, 2024 6:38 pm Don't know how much of that you can put down to our side, though. It's much better than what we were experiencing pre-Bielsa, or in the eighties!

Re: Leeds United v Derby County Match Thread
That is very true and it would be far worse to return to mid table obscurity. The matches might then be more equal but the quality would sadly be lacking as we know from many season supporting and attending during those fallow years.
