I've been harping on about this for ages. It's actually pretty rare for a corner to directly lead to a goal. Studies show it happens somewhere around 3-5% of the time. or at best 1 time in 10 or 10%, Teams practice them a lot, so you'd think it would be higher, but it's still a pretty low percentage. Arsenal seem to be the exception because they practice with many different stacked techniques.

Back in the day when fit David Beckham took every corner kick for the Scum - they scored one goal from them. It is not just us that have the problem.

I used to get jittery at corners expecting the worst but now I know the probability of getting a goal. from a corner i am more relaxed.

Free kicks are slightly better. With them it's actually pretty low, somewhere around 5-10% of the time. Goalkeepers are really good at saving them these days, and teams have gotten better at defending them too. Still, when they go in, it's always a thing of beauty!!! and something that is always memorable. You need a specialist like Beckham or Harte. I can't remember when we last scored from a free kick, all that sticks in my mind is failures from the whispering twins.
