Shame, not a good first touch from Piroe.

Don't feel we have been at the races since Sheffield game. Just look a bit off the pace... Hard to put my finger on what but slightly over hit passes less ruthlessness, sluggish maybe?

I don't think Gruev helps the transition in the same way Rothwell or or Ampadu do. Seems like he ticks the game over, similar to Tanaka but less effective.
We haven't had any rotation since Christmas other than Gruev/Rothwell. Farke is not known to rest tired or under performing players, but we could really do with a couple of changes on Weds.

Good defence, Solomon, Firpo and Gruev.

We are losing the ball in the final third that’s why we’ve been under the threat of the counterattack .

Our wing combinations not working in either defence or attack. Gruev doing okay, Tanaka still in his pit. Meslier looks commanding for once. We’ve got a game on our hands.

How does Piroe not score there? Massive chance lost. Good saves though

CHAPELALLMAN wrote: ↑Sun Mar 09, 2025 12:33 pm That sounds horribly reminiscent of how things started to turn out in the last 11 games of last season.

I hope that not strengthening in Jan doesn't have the same outcome that it has had I'm several previous seasons. I thought that finally they might have learnt that lesson - but historically this club never learns from its past mistakes.
More players wouldn’t have changed things. The same players would’ve still been flogged to death. Do recall, we have an embarrassment of riches on the bench.

Brilliant double save by their keeper. Solomon through a crowd and Piroe from point blank
