Will always be capable of world class saves mixed in with completely embarrassing gaffs. Depends if thats a compromise you are willing to accept
Eccentricity mate - all keepers have varying degrees. I remember the joke about the Liverpool keeper - Grobbelar. That if he comes out of his box any further he will get hit by a bus.

The fact is most keepers punch these days. It was a relatively straightforward catch - high hanging ball etc. if he had punched it - the comments about not being able to catch the ball, would have been ubiquitous, and as we found out literally true.

As a minor piece of mitigation there was a swirling wind in the ground. But his touch (attempted catch) was in many ways, comparatively speaking no worse than Joseph’s from the throw in, but far more jeopardy when the keeper drops a clanger. The suggestion that his head has gone, as many quote is without any foundation. You have to give the lad credit for not hiding and feigning injury etc.

We shall see what happens, there is always a tipping point. But the rarely seen lesser spotted Darlow as the alternative, is in many ways a bit of a punt for me. Ideally, We need two keepers who are vying for the jersey, this situation could have easily been avoided.

Well there has to always be room for a detailed, concise, considered and insightful argument doesn't there?

Its now a matter of principle for Daniel Farke to justify his decision to back IM, all logic and form, a balanced view has all gone out of the window. This stubborness is a major weakness on how to manage a side imo. Its beyond belief to watch. We can't go back and rectify the past but Daniel Farke has options to freshen things up in defence. Confidence must be low, so imo Darlow needs to finish out the season with players he has played with for Wales. Will it happen, no..........

Had he caught that ball it would have been close to a perfect performace from, that save just before the goal was top drawer and I think Darlow concedes that and the pen as low and into the corner scores more often than not.

I agree, he was top class until that flap, but a flap that cost us dearly, then another that cost us dearly, although the latter ws a joint calamitous effort.
I had Mes down as just behind Rothwell for my MOM until the above 2 mistakes.
Can't keep sticking up for him though, this one has peed me off big time, it's stick or twist time for DF, I will go along with whatever his decision (not that I've any choice) but something has to give.

I think thats what I’m saying or certainly have said. Its just part of being Illan Meslier.
You wont coach it into him or out of him.
His attempt to catch is a bit weird. He never has a grip on the ball. His gloves appear almost flat hence my velcro comment but yes he should have punched it. Clearly.

If we sold him how much would we get and what sort of club would he likely go to?

Back to France in the top division I'd think ...We'd make a profit

Very low chance of a PL club taking him, so unless he moved to another Championship club then it would probably be France.

I'd say an even lesser chance of a Championship club taking him as they've seen him play, whereas French clubs may not watch the Championship much

I’d assume they’d do some scouting, but yes much less focus on the Championship overseas.
