Does that make him a better manager than Farke ?

No not as it stands in my opinion but he definitely has the potential to be better so let's see how they both do next season and then maybe discuss this again.
At the very least he's shown an ability to succeed in a top league and he had even less backing than Daniel Farke and did it immediately.

Will be interesting to see how he gets on next season.

Sir Alex Ferguson did not do things immediately with Man Utd, but went on to have great success.

Being successful immediately does not predict future accomplishments, but in this day and age apparently we long for instant gratification in all things including football.

Slow and steady wins the race

Alex Ferguson had the benefit of untold funds at the time and football was very different in the mid 80s.

When you have managers able to come in and make immediate impacts like Iraola for example or Slot or Moyes even for Everton it shows that an immediate impact is hardly an unreasonable thing?

It does bring up the old how long do you wait?

Arsenal have given Arteta what 5 years now? No trophies to show for it.

Is also the financial side, so much money in football patience isn't always possible

The implicit implication was managers who make immediate impacts are better managers, and the insinuation was that Farke will have little or no impact regardless of the resources available, therefore he must be bad.

Condemnation without trail. Guilty until proven innocent.

You don't half read a heck of a lot into my posts. . . . .

Corberan has shown he can have immediate impacts with basically 0 money at 3 different clubs.

Imo that is the sign of a very decent manager (who I was wrong about).

And I'd say that he is probably on that list pound for pound the best manager on it.

As personally as I've said before I consider immediate impacts and over performing very important manager in judging a manager imo.

Which is not a new thing to have a go at Farke before you write one of your paragraphs

Ive said it for ages long before DF.

Often you've posted about how Farke messed up his big opportunity at Borussia Monchengladbach and it's true he was only there for the one season before a reported mutual parting of the ways.

However let's take look at how Monchengladbach have fared over the last 5 seasons;

20/21 8th (49 points)
21/22 10th (45 points)
22/23 10th (43 points).....Farke's season.
23/24 14th (34 points)
24/25 10th (45 points)

So Farke was average and not really a failure in my opinion.

My knowledge of his time at Borussia Mönchengladbach is limited (or atleast dulled its been years since i did any real research) but at the time he had the lowest points total for over a decade I think it was. Whether he was judged fairly or not is upto opinion but the Mönchengladbach fans couldn't stand him, he is basically a Jesse Marsch figure for them.

Protested to get him out towards the end.

That isn't me with "don't Like Farke" it's a fact, can look it up they couldn't stand him for a variety of reasons.

One important thing to note is the season Farke left Mönchengladbach lost many key players.

Marcus Thuram, Jonas Hoffman,Ramy Bensebaini and Lars Stindl amongst them.

For context those were the 4 top scorers in the Farke season so it's clear after he left they underwent a rebuild and clearly didn't feel he was the right man for it.

I would guess the underlying data wasn't kind to him (vague memory it wasnt)

What I do remember is the criticisms weren't new, they were things he'd been criticised for before including here.

So the hope is imo he has learned.

Your sin is one of ommision. Farke won the league fair and square, beat Parker and Wilder and getting some praise from you is like squeezing juice from a bitter dried up lemon.

Instead of rejoicing you obfuscate, you cloud the victory, dim and diminish the achievement, with slight and meger praise, drawing attention away from Farke by extolling other managers you deem more worthy because in your opinion to succeed with limited resources, less skillful players, no finances, should be exalted.

Of course Farke won the league he had a silver spoon in his mouth, now a real manager would have won it, with no finances, and a bunch of rejects on the team, playing with broken legs. Now that is the kind of miracle working manager Leeds needs... someone we can all be proud of... or is it? The clamour for a top class manager to replace Farke was incessant last month.

Instead of being proud of what Farke has achieved, you sneek Roger Schmidt into the picture or perhaps Kjetil Knutsen... none of those two top class managers make it, so lets take another tack... Corberan the noble over achiever.

It is always about somebody else who is better.

The Monchengladbach fans probably didn't take to his back and across slow possession style of play, assuming that's how they played during his tenure.

It's certainly an acquired taste and probably a lot more difficult to endure when most weeks you're not winning.

That was one thing I think.

From what I remember anything anyone has been frustrated by when he's been here were part of it.

Subs, game management, reliance on individuals, away form etc.

And he was considered a waffler, was a German phrase someone used can't remember it but basically meant makes excuses.

Tbf If DF was bringing up his Norwich promotions to defend himself which I imagine he would I doubt that would win favour with fans of the 2nd most successful Bundesliga club in terms of titles.

They just didn't like him.

Whether fair or not you'd have to have watched the season I suppose?

As you say they've hardly gone from strength to strength since? But they've clearly had a rebuild so how much did that play a part?

They were 8th and last 16 in the Champions League only a season or two before Farke and 4th before that.

Maybe fans got ahead of themselves? Maybe not. Only a Mönchengladbach fan can say tbf.

We can only read.

I can see where you get your opinions from. You are like a bloodhound, sniffing around for the mere scent of negativity. You trail misfortune, you hunt for failure, and bay like a demented hound, nose to the ground sniffing out disaster, and you won't rest until you have found it.

It wasn't hard to find.

You mean I looked up the opinions of our new manager at the time? Yes.

Like I do every new manager and new players. . . . .

Did it for every one since I've been on this forum.

And when Farke eventually leaves and gets replaced I'll do the same thing and for any new players.

Doesn't take long.

Really isn't as deep as you keep trying to make out :|

And my opinions on DF are probably still on the forum from before he was even at Mönchengladbach so no I don't form them based on what I read, sorry . . . .

How many promotions does Corberan have?
Genuine question.
Not interested in squad cost. Issues at the club. Thats often a misnomer.
Success is everything. There is nothing else.
In terms of Championship success its 3-0 to Farke isnt it.
I declare my love for Saint Daniel and I can shoehorn him in to any conversation.

If trophies define success then we need to have a very harsh discussion about Marcelo Bielsa Jay 2.

If you remove context and finances from arguments MB doesn't come out with anywhere near as much credit as he has in his career.

If league position defines success Farke is gonna have to do much better than 15th, 16th or 17th next season..

But the point is its a tenuous argument to suggest Corberan is better than Farke.
If we measure success by promotion alone.
Jay 2?
There is only 1 😁

Don’t understand that.
17th would be a massive success.
Survival will be paramount for the next 3 seasons at least

Why? If this season it didn't count he had the strongest roster by a mile why shouldn't it count next season when he has one of the weaker ones.. It's context no one seems to understand. winning stuff when your top dog by a distance v over acheiving with a much weaker whatever is context. Corberan has been very successful so far in his career even without the trophies..
