Good two footed LCB's are as rare as rocking horse s**t. Has a habit of tackling with the wrong foot which I'm not sure he gets away with in the prem, goes to ground a bit too much too

Might be a better DMF eventually
Take your word for it .

Can't say I've looked into him at all yet.

Maybe a back 3 with Rodon and Struijk?

Damned with faint praise faaip? Reports elsewhere suggest he's useful enough, AC Milan were sniffing too.

He played in the center of a back three for Udinese.

I don't think playing Darlow at left back is very sensible at all - even in an emergency.

Quality is irrelevant if its the wrong tactical fit.

Well that's up to Farke to adapt if that's the guy he wants. I'm not a huge fan of right footed left centre backs... good ones are unicorns.

I thought we couldn't sign anyone until 1 July anyway due to PSR etc. Our accounts will be poor compared to the rest of the league (except Sunderland), as we've had 2 years of Championship money.

I think that's smoke and mirrors ...No reason, imo, we couldn't sign someone now if we wanted to.

A quality player can fit into any formation thats required, within reason of course
Mediocre players are the ones who can only play in one position and struggle when moved to a new one that they are not comfortable with..
You couldnt ask Messi to play center half for example :)

Brentford have lost Frank, and are likely to lose Wissa & Mbuemo.

Bournemouth's two best players, Kliuivert & Semenyo are being targeted by top clubs.

Wolves have already lost Cunha.

Sunderland have flogged two of their best players.

Burnley have lost Egan-Riley & are set to lose Trafford in the coming weeks.

Nine PL clubs involved in European tournaments next season.

Meanwhile Leeds have retained their best players, all the happenings above could work in our favour.

And we've lost two of our best as it stands ...

Firpo & Solomon are the only regular first-teamers we've lost as it stands.

I expect us to replace two as good (or better) in the next couple of months.

And why can't the othe rteams do that? In fact in most cases (bar Sunderland and if we can't finish above them then we are likely done anyway) they're in a better position to do so. Didn't we just re-jig our player procurement team?

Some would say Solomon was our key player and POTS last season. And Firpo will be tough to replace too.

Don't get me wrong, I was one of a few who would have kept Junior at Leeds, but we were in a non-negotiable situation with his expired contract. I would be over the moon if we sign Solomon.

I do believe we need some big physical type signings adding to our current squad.

I didn't think it likely he stayed but my point is while we talk of how other teams are getting weaker, selling good players and that's good for us but we also got weaker so far and no one is talking about that. We're not even in a 23/24 position of having quality coming through the 21 set up. If we keep Jack then it looks better but it seems no one wants Jack here

All teams of course in a position to add and one might say Wolves etc in a better position and with funds in place from those sales are in a much better position

They also probably have a better player acquisition team in place, ours is almost a complete unknown (with the recent outgoings). This will be the Niners first premiership window in full control, they haven't proven anything yet

BTW the 25/26 squad page needs pinning and the old one can be moved to archives if you want.

Adam is the man for pinning topics, I believe. I'll give him a nudge.
