NFL and football very different.

As of yet we don't know if they can run a successful football club long term.

He was wrong to sign Rutter over Gyorkeres at the time.

Georgie did come good so as Weasel said good and bad.

But at the time wrong.

It's possible Diarra may be the same for them (hopefully for us)
Georgie came good because of Farke. Another manager, such as a Sam Allardyce, could easily have jettisoned him or marginalised him due to the lack of end product. Farke worked a team around Georgie and allowed him to flourish. If we'd have stayed in the prem we may well have loaned Georgie out or not really have been able to accomodate him in a team likely to be battling to avoid relegation.

That will have confused all of our american fan base as NFL and football are the same thing.
Small islander mentality there Cjay, broaden your horizons and call it soccerball or kickball.

The owners may not fully understand the intricaces of football ( soccer ) compared to American football, but for me that is no concern. As long as they know, and they do, how to build a good working foundation for the club thats what really matters. The football side of things they can get in tried and trusted people who know that side of game.

Interesting as if during our relegation season had any of our managers trusted Rutter you never know he might have kept us up. Allardyce publicly stated he was talented but just too raw but then started him in our last game for example. Why did he choose to do that then in a game we had to win to have any chance of staying up but not at West Ham the week before ?

Georgie was always too good for Championship football on talent alone.

Sam was just a dinosaur.

Farke did allow Georgie a position to thrive but you could see he was a level above Championship level anyway.

Georgie took risks, Sam wouldn't like that, neither did Farke, but didn't matter in the Championship as he was too good.

Talentwise yes but end product was (possibly still is) very inconsistent. I wonder if Scott Parker would have accomodated him into his promotion side or would have gone for the safer option of someone like an Ashley Barnes - you know what you get with him etc.

Now you're just confusing the issue altogether--kickball is something else entirely :)

Think baseball (i.e., bases, home plate, infield/outfield, etc.), but instead off a bat, batters use their legs to kick a ball. The ball itself is rubber and the size of a football/soccer ball. Also, to get people "out" you can hit them with the ball.

Sounds a bit like a game we played in the playground in junior school (8-13). Never heard of it being played elsewhere in that exact incarnation but a great game team game to play... Differs in we only had 2 "bases", and we used hands to hit the ball

Byram is a FA at the moment

All we can do is wait and see what the team looks like mid july. Don't really think adding 7/8 players close to start of season is a great way to get off to an ok start. I'd expect 3/4 signings in the next three weeks ... more hopefully. Plus a couple at least moved on

We have 8 forwards atm - Rama, Gnonto, Paddy, Joel, James, Harrison, Mateo, Nmecha. A bit of an overload in a 25 man squad and we're still looking for two more, (AMF, striker) So some outs is indicated too

Time to sign a goalie and a midfielder then get rid of some dead wood.
Bamford,Harrison,Mateo & Aaronson are a couple of names I would let go.
But they just keep hanging around.

Yes but we must be actively trying to sell Paddy, Harrison, Mateo. And i would let Gnonto for a decent fee

Another CB, at 6 mill and basically a reserve at Koln I guess this is a squad not first team addition. Right footed.
