Ashley Barnes has just signed a one year extension with Burnley 😂
That's every bit as bad as our situation with Mr Bamford, shocker

Not sure if these have been posted yet but they’re not giving travelling fans much time to book flights/ accommodation etc.

I posted something similar and then added it to the squad thread for reference

From the BBC site today
Brentford will only sell Bryan Mbeumo if the "deal is right"
Bees captain Christian Norgaard is close to joining Arsenal
Liverpool are among several clubs interested in Crystal Palace defender Marc Guehi
Chelsea have agreed a deal worth £60m to sign Joao Pedro from Brighton

Also, Bournemouth have lost some of the best players from last season.

All looking good for Leeds United.

We were linked for sure as a target once we missed on Diarra... I had my fingers crossed for both those two.

That would be a very impressive signing.

Sunderland doing some good business. We have been concentrating on defence, looks like
Sunderland have been concentrating on midfield.

Think that takes Sunderland's spending to around 68M .... including the profit on Bellingham, and in his case that might be addition by subtraction

Sunderland conceded a lot of goals though in the Championship.
I'm sure it was said somewhere that if you get the defence right you will win games, can't remember the exact quote.

I don't believe that in the prem. Defensive teams will get beat as there are too many good attacking teams that will break you down eventually and backs to the wall stuff is very tiring

Fair point, you still need a good defence though

Obviously and I think we had one in the championship. I like the Rodon/Struijk partnership. You get a cultured on ball player able to do damage from our box and the balls to the wall blood and guts defender in Rodon. Two of the latter, especially both right footed worries me..

Innocent until proven guilty, of course, but I can never understand why any footballer could find themselves in this sort of position.

Would imagine the amount of privilege and ass kissing that comes with being a Professional footballer gives a very inflated sense of your own self importance?

That and having everything done for you.

And also means the word "no" isn't something you hear much.

They have women falling at their feet, quite why they have to pursue women who say no seems crazy to me.

As you say, inflated egos etc.

Hope he gets what’s coming to him, if guilty.
