And DCL not being fit is the least surprising news ever.
Be very interesting to see how we cope out of possession, it looked iffy during ore season.

Dross or poorly managed? Like a lot of our rejects it's likely the latterYorkshireSquare wrote: ↑Sat Aug 23, 2025 3:49 pm Worth or cost?
That's the thing about the top end of the Premier League, everyone expects you to pay £40m+ plus for a player. But look at the dross Man Utd have brought in for that amount.

For me Gruev is the safe choice and exactly what we need today.White Lotus wrote: ↑Sat Aug 23, 2025 3:48 pm That's the best Arsenal line up we could hope for imo.
Had a feeling it would be Gruev - I hope he now has a stormer, and it's got me wondering why he's gone for him. I'd love to be inside the managers head - Has he got plans to still be in the game after 60mins and then throw on something different?

Bit of both, but some of the sums banded about for players in the Premier League is silly. When Chelsea or City are in the market, selling clubs rub their hands together.

We wanted the Premier League, we wanted to play the best teams, we wanted to see the best players on the planet.YorkshireSquare wrote: ↑Sat Aug 23, 2025 4:00 pm Got a feeling watching this is going to be excruciating

I was thinking the same. Clubs would probably accept a 40 million for Player A. Then when one of money clubs comes in, they know they can get double.YorkshireSquare wrote: ↑Sat Aug 23, 2025 4:11 pm Bit of both, but some of the sums banded about for players in the Premier League is silly. Yeah, agree—it does feel like a free hit. A point today would be absolutely massive and keep the momentum going. Big test for Perri, like you say—he’s got the size to make that box his. And if he comes through it, all the better with Newcastle up next—they only managed 8 wins on the road last season, which for a side chasing Champions League places isn’t exactly dominant. But you know what they say about "the hope".Pullhard wrote: ↑Sat Aug 23, 2025 2:00 pm Yes the 3 points in the bag gives it that free hit sort of feel. A sneaky draw today would be a thing of beauty. Big test for Perri to command the box. Let’s see whether he uses his physique to dominate.
Look at West Ham after last night and suddenly in crisis mode - potentially looking at no points from first 5 games.

Whatever the result today it won't have any bearing on our season. We're expected to lose and probably will. It will be interesting to see how we cope against the second best team in England last season.
Let's hope the lads give a good account of themselves.

Any team can have an off day, lets hope it's Arsenal's, Manure looked better than them so maybe not at peak yet. I'll be relaxed and analytical as usual.

Farke ; "we're not changing our DNA for this game"
Me : "Good, that's quite an exciting bench we've got Daniel if we're still in it at 70mins"
Arteta - "we're going to slap you silly"
