So.... Our window has literally entailed us signing the new sick note six and losing the quality attacking threat we had in the championship (Solomon) replacing with Okafor who has not scored more that 5 in Italy between injuries......

Sold, returned to mothership (or let run down their contract): Firpo, Solomon, Gyabi, Gelhardt.....

Not sold but should have to raise funds: Piroe, Meslier, Gruev.

Quality brought in: Gudmundsson, Stach, Perri. Bijol, Long staff.

Quality but injury prone to the extreme: Nmecha, Calvert Lewin, Bornauw.

Unsure why we have bought on career so far/injury prone: Okafor, Justin.

Genuinely feel sorry for Farke.

Abysmal.

No one wanted Meslier unfortunately. Another player we will lose for nothing.

Well that’s a shitter, can’t say it wasn’t expected though. Now the windows shut can we say we are significantly stronger than last season? Definitely have a deeper squad with better cover to come in when needed but I’d argue we are only ever so slightly better in a league of much higher quality. Hopefully grit, effort, determination and all that will be enough.

Every single poster on here, some more than others, feel what with frees, injury prone signings and the odd 15m 'splashed' around, that LUFC have not handed the manager enough to sustain a full year Premier campaign.

But guess who'll get the blame for failure.

Apologies for going back to my NFL example, but it's relevant as that's where the Niners operate.

Two years ago my favourite NFL team the Washington Commanders were a complete joke and had been for three decades, mainly due to incompetent and unprofessional ownership.

Two years ago the franchise was bought by Josh Harris, a minority stakeholder at Crystal Palace, who has also been involved in successful NBA franchises, etc.

He's a lifelong Washington, shrewd businessman and has the interests of the franchise and the fanbase in his heart, it drops from every word he speaks and every action he takes.

Josh appointed Adam Peters, as our new General Manager, he was working as the 49ers Assistant General Manager at the time, and was the most coveted soon to be GM in the NFL.

So we got AP, and his primary function is to recruit and manage coaches and the playing squad. All I've seen AP doesn't is get shot of all of our dross coaches and players and bring in the best he could get.

He also drives a very hard bargain, so other franchises, their GMs and player agents know not to f**k with him. He always gets the best deal for the franchise and it's future.

We hadn't won a play-off match in 31 years, but won two last season and were blown out by the Superbowl winning Eagles in the NFC Championship game.

This season I'm expecting us to compete and win the Superbowl. Which is an amazing transformation in just two years after we got the correct owner in and he insisted on the best staff to change things round.

My perspective on all this is why would the 49ers let such a talent as Adam Peters walk out the door?

Also, if a franchise as terribly managed as Washington was for three decades can turn itself in two years, why can't Leeds United?

I'm actually most disappointed for Farke, as even though I'm not convinced of his credentials at this level, he's been well and truly shafted by these 49er MFers.

So do I and I'm not his biggest fan. Everyone said you couldn't judge his Norwich days as Delia didn't back him. Well here we are again.. I think we might be ok defensively but I can't see us scoring the 50 plus goals we're likely to need. Our defence isn't top 10.

Can understand that a bit, we'd spent big the previous season and Bielsa was notoriously difficult to please in terms of players. He had a type he wanted and second best not good enough, indeed he and Farke are similar there just that Daniel not in Marcelo's class as a coach/tactician.

Don't know about anyone else, but for me every one of Farkes most recent interviews have included a 'polite' reference aimed at the board, with what you might call a 'not so well hidden message in it - That message was screaming - "I'm not happy with the offense"

It looks like a huge gamble.

We did a lot right. New keeper, new LB, depth across the back line, depth in midfield but nothing creative, offloaded some so called deadwood and expensive contracts, a couple of good but injury prone forwards on free deals…..

But …. Farke said we needed more up front and would have to agree with him. Statement of the obvious.

We need the physio room to keep 2 of DCL, Nmecha and Okafur on the pitch at all times. Worried whether Piroe and James can hack it in the PL (were brilliant for us last year of course).

The slaughter in The Emirates saved us 6 weeks of learning. We are in a 15 team league and have to adapt. I think we understand that now after Newcastle performance.

I hope W Ham, Wolves and Brentford are hurting. Maybe Villa as well.
