Backing down does him no good, they will sack him anyway if it starts to go wrong.

We know what he really thinks because he was clear few days ago.

Will he reiterate that? Or will he back down somewhat?

In his position it would take quite a lot of bravery on his part to effectively criticise the work done by the people who decide whether he's employed or not.

Its quite rare for managers to really criticise the bosses.

On the other hand doing a total 360 would make him look a bit daft ? Given his comments a few days ago.
I honestly feel he'll tell the truth.

They tried right up until the death, The Wilson saga proves that, he'll say that along with 'targets missed, 'players humming and rrring about wanting to be in a relegation battle (but i doubt he'll say that part) clubs asking too much and all the other reasons they've been let down.

We can speculate all day long they've not done enough - Imho, they tried within the realms and parameters of where we are re -psr etc
And the fact we're still having to deal with past mistakes like Wober.

I would imagine that he would be diplomatic. Along the lines of 'we would have liked to have got more in but we still have some excellent players'

His ball in to DCL was a peach and shows how much better he is on the left than on the right (which in my opinion renders a lot of his poor stats irrelevant from his time at Everton where he was showed onto the right wing. We have less 'flash' with Harrison than with Ramazani, we also have probably less quality of delivery with Harrison in comparison to Solomon but we do have a player that will work for the team, do his share of defensive duties and could easily end up with half a dozen goals and the same amount of assists.
Also Willy is better on the right, so it does give us preferred wings cover on both sides.

Only 6 of the first team squad and Darlow is one of those.

Pretty good then from a rest and recuperation plus training perspective.

Unless of course you prefer to think we have a poor squad due to the lack of senior internationals :)

Fair point. Problem is that we had one of the lowest level talent bases to start with.

If Fulham agreed to let him join us, the club should produce evidence. There must be a email or some form of documentation.
Verbally agreed. But then they didn't submit the paperwork. And told Leeds they wouldn't be completing the deal.

Deadline day always has these issues.

We lost
My thinking on Wilson too

If our whole window depended on Harry Wilson .... it's all a storm in a teacup. A load of fuss over a player who wouln't have made a huge impact.

And AOL, think the Athletic has us lower. And as you say we were miles behind to start with, and still are in terms of talent. We're left with team spirit and canny management to keep us up.

It is not about quantity, it is quality. So if we look at the players that Sunderland brought in…………erm…………..f@ck it you are right.

However, we did start on a far stronger footing.

I see no point in trying to second guess what the recruitment strategy was and who is to blame specifically. The club has failed as a whole, to what degree, ( if at all - you never know ) we shall find out in the coming months.

So if Farke does keep us you will have to change your perception of his tactical abilities. Agreed ?

can't have been demanding too much if he's ended up going on loan to Villarreal for free!

I think judging the quality of the players should wait until the end of the season. All we know is they have spent more. They may have overspent on average players whereas we might have snapped up some bargains. Who knows what the future brings?

Remains to be seen. We've done significant transfer activity even if that didn't happen on deadline day. And looks like we wanted 12 and signed 10. I'd say that's not a major failure. But the assessment on most of our signings will take time. And we'll have to see how results go.

Don't judge the window on what happened on deadline day. Judge it (hopefully better) on our league position in December.
