And it’s okay to dispute it. Pub league or no, it’s 55 championship titles, plus gods knows how many cups, just think of the jobs that creates in the Gorbals polishing and dusting. And which other club generates so much love equalled by so much hate in equal measure - and please don’t respond with ‘Leeds’, it’s not many months since we were everybody’s favourite second team.Cjay wrote: ↑Wed Sep 03, 2025 2:31 pm Sorry but I would dispute that.
I think that underestimates the size of LUFC.
Just on a social media basis we have far more followers for example despite being a 2nd division side for the vast majority of the last 20 years.
Trophies yes but they play in a pub league with basically a 50/50 chance of winning anything.
And financially a Premier League Leeds United will generate significantly more money and ultimately sell for far more than Rangers.

only because they play in a 2 club leagueOrange Box wrote: ↑Wed Sep 03, 2025 1:07 pm I’m not saying they wouldn’t, they clearly would, unless Rangers play their under 21s. I’m saying by just about any metric you want to apply - size, support, trophies etc. Rangers as a club win hands down.

Their wages cannot be an issue if the clubs take them on loan and pay 100% of the wages

you clearly do not read all my posts over the last couple of seasons. Serious question OB...how do you think Rangers would have faired in the Premier League regarding trophies and titles.Orange Box wrote: ↑Wed Sep 03, 2025 1:07 pm I’m not saying they wouldn’t, they clearly would, unless Rangers play their under 21s. But we don't gain a fee on our buy/sell levels. Yes, it lowers the wage bill, but that's obsolete if we sign more players on the same wage or higher. To spend more under PSR, we need a big sell. The issue is the only players that draw big fees are our key players and fans would moan if we sell them.

Re: Paraag Marathe Needs to be Sacked !!!!
I suspected that we'd have a poor window but not quite as bad as it has been....
This is the first window that Adam Underwood has been in a senior recruitment position.
A premier league club.... Dealing with 100 million in transfers entrusts it to a guy who has never been in this position before at any level.....
It all makes sense as to why we bought a majority of injury stricken players and placed them on long term high wage deals.
It is a f##king joke...... Absolute disgrace but ultimately I blame Underwood only so far as he apparently has (like many who are involved in football via good luck or nepotism) very little understanding of both the game and data, never mind forming a cogent long term transfer strategy.
The person I blame is Marathe for giving a totally inexperienced dof sole responsibility for identifying and pursuing players on a limited budget in the prem.
The inadequacy of the deals pursued and negotiation capability surely made Fulham laugh.... Direct rival sell us your really good back up winger last minute in the window pretty please..... Ohhh why did you pull out last min leaving us in the s**t and wasting our time so we couldn't bring anyone else in? Derrrrrr...... Direct rival might have something to do with it.
Is it that these incompetent people in these jobs are just a##e lickers and bullshi##ers who are good with people? Outwardly confident but in reality hot air and no substance? Certainly seems that way. Never in a million years would I have thought that someone could make Victor Orta look better.....

You seem to know a lot about the deals we made with the new players
What are the wages they are on?

Surely you can see the excellent job he’s doing at Rangers

Re: Paraag Marathe Needs to be Sacked !!!!
It was mooted a few years ago, Swanny, Rangers and Celtic in the PL. if it had happened, with the subsequent financial input, we’d have had 8 mega clubs, instead of the current 6. The fan base in Glasgow is every bit as hungry as Manchester and Merseyside and twice as volatile.

It's not just Marathe that needs sacked.
Those numpties Adam Underwood, Robbie Evans, and Marathe just need guillotined in the centre circle at half time during the next home match.
I will be more than happy to perform the execution duties.
