5 points from the last 21 with the "bad" run edging closer.

So he could have had 2 goals & 2 assists but got nothing.1964white wrote: ↑Sun Oct 19, 2025 12:43 pm Oh yes, two come to mind.
A difficult half-chance for Leeds then presented itself as a cross from Aaronson picked out DCL who sent an overhead kick from inside the box well over the bar.
And the header from Tanaka's cross that sailed over the bar in the final minutes.
DCL did set up Aaronson in the first few minutes with a guided header in Brenden's path, who decided to stop running & pass the ball backwards to kill any opportunity on goal.
Calvert-Lewin also created a chance with his aerial ability for Bogle, a shot my granny would have tucked away.
Dress it up any way you want, but we tied ourselves to two strikers who have little to no goal scoring track record, and DCL is flattering to deceive at the moment.

DCL isn't really a one up front forward. He at the very least needs a good creative 10 (Longstaff isn't it) and a pair of true wingers (Harrison and Aaronson are not wingers) to get the best out of him

Totally agree with your comments every games same set up, same player, same outcome.
He has got to give Piroe a run of games,DCL I do not see him doing for us,does the poor performance go down to poor trainer or players just don't have the ability to perform at this level,as the saying goes AGAIN must win on Fri or I think real pressure is on Farke, because these teams we got to get 3pts no option .

Complaining about DCL not scoring is like buying a car and complaining it doesn’t fly.
We knew what we were getting. The Everton fan described him perfectly on here.

Piroe for Calvert-Lewin.
Do you remember the Arsenal game?
No point playing long high balls then, limitations how we would play without DCL.
Piroe with Calvert-Lewin is a different story!

They weren't sitters like Aaronson & Bogle's feeble efforts.Carrick Dave wrote: ↑Sun Oct 19, 2025 1:20 pm So he could have had 2 goals & 2 assists but got nothing.![]()

Had Harrison shown a bit more composure, he had a one on one chance too.

Odds are had DCL played v Arse, he'd have been as useful as Piroe was..We got slaughtered, Piroe was just unlucky he was the starter and is suffering for it.

They way we have set up has given us a pretty decent return.Johnsie123 wrote: ↑Sun Oct 19, 2025 2:13 pm Totally agree with your comments every games same set up, same player, same outcome.

Plus you make the mistake to believe that our players are completely one dimension and can not adjust how they approach a game.
Its not as if we are getting played off the park is it? Or are getting carved open time and time again.
What I am not surpised at is the fact that even though we know it would be hard, with so many disadvantages being a newly promoted side fans still to think that their untested theories are a solution to a problem that the manager has done well in addressing.
Making us competitive at this level,
He has and we are.

I’m not complaining - Leeds knew they were taking a gamble on his fitness and knew his scoring track record was abysmal.
My issue is that some insist on telling me that our poverty in front of goal is everybody’s fault but his. He’s a striker on £100,000 per week. He needs to produce.
I’ve nothing against the guy and hope he comes good, but he’s robbing us at the minute.

Piroe can't jump & has no physicality about him, so he would struggle on his own up top against the majority of the Premier League centre-backsThe Subhuman wrote: ↑Sun Oct 19, 2025 4:13 pm Odds are had DCL played v Arse, he'd have been as useful as Piroe was..We got slaughtered, Piroe was just unlucky he was the starter and is suffering for it.

But he’s always been the same so why buy him.

So he’s not really ripping us off is he?Carrick Dave wrote: ↑Sun Oct 19, 2025 6:17 pm We couldn’t get anyone else to commit? Several were linked but went elsewhere.
49ers sticking plaster? They needed someone as a target man to placate the fans?
Unless he said in his interview “oh yeah I always score like Harry Kane”.
Incidentally Kane only ever scores from penalties

Due to injuries plus letting Ramazani & Jospeh go we've been very light in the attacking areas.Carrick Dave wrote: ↑Sun Oct 19, 2025 6:17 pm We couldn’t get anyone else to commit? Several were linked but went elsewhere.

Calvert Lewin was never going to be the answer on his own in a team game.

I read earlier post about him needing various things to perform. Like 2 out & out wingers. So will he improve if Dan James comes back at 100%

Your positively worded reply means exactly the same as my more negatively slanted one Jammy.
Desperate times loom, but a couple of wins would change everyone’s perspective. We need a few players to have a look at themselves, along with Farke.
Ger Lynch was highlighting the difference in our press yesterday compared to the Everton and Newcastle games.
